I’m referirng to the premise of photos of loved ones… I dont agree with pap style photography. You’re refering to the uncanny valley in the second part.

I think the issue is more that he wasnt involved. You tend to consent to a photo or video. The AI stuff is being done for money, not to remember, not really as an exploration of the artform…

I would presume they know.
- Comment on Amazon reportedly used a secret algorithm to jack up prices — A new report details Amazon’s Project Nessie pricing algorithm 1 year ago:
I dont like using amazon but they’re often the cheapest for the things I need. Thats benefited me, but also disturbs me as you watch high street retailers die off. I tend to screengrab products so I can come back and compare prices later. Some of the sales prices are bogus, they’ll jack the price up a week before, reduce it again for the “sale” and put “35% off!!!” You’ve really got to keep on top of it and be vigilant.

When the Hawaiian fires happened people were saying the Chinese had that as a weapon and were using it on America, I noticed.

You make some good points but heat can be stored as thermal mass. The losses in converting the solar heat into another type of energy storage like batteries negates simply storing it in a large vat of sand for example.

Amazon UK is listing a barebones pi4 for £165. Links back to the Pi storefront too. With what people are saying about scalpers people should let the company know on their socials how they feel about “businesses” getting all the stock and the prices to individuals.

- Comment on Amazon To Start Running Ads In Prime Video Series & Movies, Will Launch Ad-Free Tier For Extra Fee 1 year ago:
Used to have prime. Never got the same day delivery they promised. Box was always smashed to fuck (the normal delivery was often quicker and less damaged). Used it for the movies and a couple of shows. 11 quid a month was already a lot, if you’re going to add more on to take features off the normal tier then they can go and fuck themselves. Will never buy it again, they make enough money and dont pay their taxes.

Twitter has been dead for over a year. Well before threads. It started with the shadowbans and the tweaking of the algorithms to push media down our throats when all we wanted was cat photos and to talk about music.

Hard to convince people. The twittersphere has fractured into about 4 different places, and masto is fractured even further with different servers arguing in places (a bit like here tbh) over federation.
