- Comment on Twitter accused of helping Saudi Arabia commit human rights abuses 1 year ago:
Free speech absolutist, but only when it’s straight up harmful.
- Comment on Would running a Lemmy/kbin instance on your phone be feasible? 1 year ago:
That’s a terrible idea and you should never run any kind of service from your phone.
- Comment on If you work remotely, your bosses are probably using software to track you. Here's how they'll catch you slacking off. 1 year ago:
If you’re on their device, assume it’s a giant surveillance device. If you’re forced to do company work on your device, stick it in a VM.
- Comment on Study: Streamers Now Wasting Record Amounts of Time Finding Something to Watch 1 year ago:

Idk but I blocked like a dozen of them or so and they just disappeared. They have a few always-online users that you should just block when they pop up.
- Comment on How did we come to say something courteous to someone after they’ve sneezed 1 year ago:
Yeah we should just blankly stare at them instead as they cover you in a mist of snot

You should probably do it on computer rather then on mobile. That’s why work applications are designed for computer and not your phone.
- Comment on Apple’s Decision to Kill Its CSAM Photo-Scanning Tool Sparks Fresh Controversy 1 year ago:
I wouldn’t say it’s square one, it currently exists and is usable right now at least. So the laws haven’t won yet. It definitely can be more prevalent though.
- Comment on Do eSIMs have any downsides from a privacy standpoint? 1 year ago:
Nvm that may be a GrapheneOS only thing, idk
- Comment on Apple’s Decision to Kill Its CSAM Photo-Scanning Tool Sparks Fresh Controversy 1 year ago:
That’s an attack on e2ee, not on any specific provider. CSAM is just one of the ways they use to criminalize encryption.
- Comment on Do eSIMs have any downsides from a privacy standpoint? 1 year ago:
You can erase the eSim. You can also turn it off, but I’m not sure to what extent is it disabled.
- Comment on Do eSIMs have any downsides from a privacy standpoint? 1 year ago:
It doesn’t have full hardware access, it’s sandboxed.
- Comment on Apple’s Decision to Kill Its CSAM Photo-Scanning Tool Sparks Fresh Controversy 1 year ago:
It’s e2ee, that’s just for them to legally cover their ass. They have zero knowledge of what’s uploaded.
- Comment on Apple’s Decision to Kill Its CSAM Photo-Scanning Tool Sparks Fresh Controversy 1 year ago:
Something like Proton Cloud, or a self hosted Nextcloud instance. If it’s encrypted, it’s nobody’s business.
- Comment on Apple’s Decision to Kill Its CSAM Photo-Scanning Tool Sparks Fresh Controversy 1 year ago:
You’re paying to reserve some space in their cloud to store your encrypted bits. If you exchange money for that space, then you’re entitled for it to be encrypted and private.
- Comment on Google kills Pixel Pass without ever upgrading subscriber’s phones 1 year ago:
Good, upgrading every 2 years is completely unnecessary now and generates a huge amount of ewaste.

- Comment on Do Multivitamins actually do anything? 1 year ago:
