He was an incredibly smart man, and I’m sure this kept him up at night. If you haven’t, I would suggest going to listen/watch some interviews with him and you might get some insight as to where his mind was at.
One thing that really stuck with me was one thing he said “Failure is an inevitability of sucess”.
- Comment on US Senator Warner Presses Valve to Crack Down on Hateful Accounts and Rhetoric Proliferating on Steam 3 days ago:
If anyone read the report about the hate comments, you would know that they consider Pepe to fall into this category and was the OVERWHELMING majority of the percentage of what they refer to as hate speech… and it is just a frog. Pepe was 1st in percentage while swastikas were 2nd at 9% - just to give you an idea. Also steam has over a billion users, over a hundred million active users and if you crunch the numbers, it is less than a percent of accounts posting this thing of material. I’m not saying racist shit on steam isn’t a problem, but they’re blowing it up way out of its actual scope.

Yes it does. Besides the janky character models, pretty much everything else was either passable or awesome. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Unfortunate. Seems like you got a rowdy bunch lol. If I recall right when I unleashed them on an aphid infestation I had them in there for like 2-3 hours. Idk I’d that would make a difference or not. A lot of them did peace out pretty soon after I let them loose, but a handful stayed around for a few days.
- Comment on Do it. 3 weeks ago:
Did you cool them before you released them? Lowering their body temperature helps keep them arou d and on your plants to take the little fuckers out.

Not sure about that, but there was an account of something similar in India, I believe, where there was a chemical agent involved that buzzards were extremely susceptible to and wound up killing off most, if not all of the population. This led to carcasses being left to rot and then became vectors for disease and basically led to a chain reaction of events that caused a few million people to die.
I don’t know if killing off mosquitos would have quite as a profound effect as this, but there are so many things I feel like we have almost no understanding of when it comes to the natural world - we try to grasp the knowledge and that’s what science is, but we’re always learning new things. So to say there would be minimal consequences, I feel like is very short-sighted.
I’ve read in a few comments here that there are studies saying that it wouldn’t have a crazy effect - if anyone could link them so I can give them a read, I would appreciate it.

My only problem with it is the fact that you’re taking a major insect class out of the ecosystem and later on down the line it might have serious implications. There will never be enough research on the effects of it until it’s too late to reverse. I hate mosquitoes (I live in Southern L.A.) but I don’t think this is the answer.

As someone who has been a life long Gundam fan but lacking heavily in watching mew(ish) series and movies - watching Origin the other day and seeing what they did to drop the colony… yea… this is totally accurate.

I’m totally for how and why he dipped out. I’ve made a few decisions in life in a similar fashion. But a man as principled as he is, with feelings and ideas that intense, is a hell of a thing to lose in the pursuit of truth. Just imagine, if instead of resigning to almost insurmountable odds where most would be against him, he instead chose to be a stubborn man in the opposite respect and didn’t rest until the truth and was common knowledge or had created groups and institutions to further pursue it if not able to do it himself.
Things like this are way bigger than one person, and to understand the problem and try to tackle it would consume your whole life. Go on and pick some mushrooms my man. You made your contribution to society and decided the rat race isn’t worth it.

And at the same time, I’m slowly collecting copies of all the old games I used to play, and some I didn’t play as a kid. I just picked up a damn near pristine copy of Gundam Battle Assault 2 for $40. The game basically never flucatuated in value in about 20 years time and I find that hilarious.

I really like the regression of graphics trend lately. It enables the developers to focus in on gameplay, mechanics, and building the world. Personally, I love the style. It reminds me of PS1 days in so many ways.

I always wondered why the servers were shit. Why are people even doing that to a game server…
- Comment on TitanFall 2 at 3$ 3 months ago:
I don’t think it is. I played through it a few years back and don’t remember that but I could be dead ass wrong. But the campaign is SO GOOD and relatively short it wouldn’t be that bad just to play through it each on your own. The multi-player is alright, the servers aren’t the best but you can find matches for sure.

I wanted to love this game, the story was amazing. But playing this now, man… the graphics are so washed out and bland. I’m not asking for the best quality, but man, it really sidnt age well visually.
With that said, if anyone has any graphical overhaul mods they know of that are good, please send them my way because I would love to actually play through the title.
This screen shot is great though, the shining jewel in the desert peaking over the rocks.

I appreciate you taking the time to describe that. I’ve always thought about the effects on local fauna and flora and the shifting upwards of temperatures and thus shifting biomes and potential farmland upwards as well. And what you’re describing kind of fits the description.
I feel like something bigger is going on though. People around the states have noticed bug populations down in populated areas, I don’t know about anything outside of here though. Things are changing and the way science works it’s typically slow to react.
