I don’t think you procreate if you stick it up the garbage disposal though.

Like you’ve been shown that there’s no simple answer over and over again here, but one problem I face hasn’t been mentioned. What if I want to subscribe to communities that I can’t participate in? Not every community is about hobbies, some is people talking about their life which is totally unlike mine and I like to read that. One I always pick as an example is r/arrangedmarriage. I love(d) reading that subreddit to explore a world that is so foreign to me. I’m a white woman from Europe as far removed from marriage as one could be on this earth. Why should someone follow an c/arrangedmarriage I of all people created and mod? Not everyone joins nicht communities because they are directly relevant to their life.

Am I the only one confused because the beaver is clearly shorter than the Bieber?

I wonder if that’s still cheaper, because it makes people value safety of others but also because it raises the burden to report smaller accidents and workmans comp fraud because of peer pressure.
- Comment on Why do phone manufacturers use in-display fingerprint readers instead of fingerprint readers on the power button? 1 month ago:
For me, dirt and especially water getting into the case through the camera holes is definitely an issue, and my case also is tight.
- Comment on Why do phone manufacturers use in-display fingerprint readers instead of fingerprint readers on the power button? 2 months ago:
But wouldn’t that let water and dirt inside the case, just like the camera cutouts? I already hate those

Ok, so how does this work with phone cases?

I’m not fucking with these letter but it’s: Face, head/hair, torso front, torso back, armpits, head again (long hair), arms if still wet, legs if still wet, feet if still wet.
Anybody not starting with the face is a borderline psychopath imo
- Comment on A European consumer watchdog wants you to be able to buy exactly as much in-game currency as you need, not fixed chunks 2 months ago:
Huh. Taxed on what basis? You buy it with your already income taxed money, and the company reports it as income which is then again taxed? It’s like buying a gift voucher. Or maybe foreign currency, but usually you are only taxed on the gains once you sell them, but you can’t sell in-game currency… What else would you like to tax? What would you even audit? Hey tax authority, I have 3 million gold coins, 2486 diamonds and 4 speed ups in clash of clans, do you want screenshots?
In-game currency is annoying and bad, but I don’t get what you want to do here.

- Comment on It seems Gen Z is just fine with parents knowing where they are all the time 1 year ago:
I don’t know, it’s not like it’s a secret what I’m doing in there. Going to the toilet looks very similar for most people I assume, so it’s not like someone with decent imagination couldn’t know what it looks like anyway. I don’t see the huge difference in whether the door is open or not other than politeness.
- Comment on It seems Gen Z is just fine with parents knowing where they are all the time 1 year ago:
The reason I close the toilet door is mainly because I know others don’t want to witness me peeing. If they didn’t care, I wouldn’t care tbh. Everyone’s priorities regarding privacy are different, but I think for every person at least something feels private.

That sounds like an awesome concept, but since it ends on a cliffhanger and didn’t get a season 2, I won’t consider it.
- Comment on New Study: 54% of American Adults Read Below 6th Grade-Levels 1 year ago:
Yeah, but I’d argue those countries either have people being decebtly fluent in multiple languages (which is not what this graphit implies) or they have evolved their institutions and society in a way where meaningful societal and political participation is possible regardless of what language you speak. I don’t think the US is at that level, and I think.kt not being that way if this is lived reality for a lot of Americans IS a systemic failure.
The failure is not necessarily having multiple languages spoken, but the institutions not reflecting this reality. So you can either invest in people being fluent in a common language in addition to whatever languages they may speak OR redesign institutions and reshape society. Not doing any of the two is a systemic failure imo.
- Comment on New Study: 54% of American Adults Read Below 6th Grade-Levels 1 year ago:
Not being able to read also doesn’t auromatically equate dumb though. It just highlights a systemic failure of the educations system. And arguably a country experiencing a language divide to this degree is a systemic failure of some kind as well.
