Okay I understand now, but I think the formulation could have been better then😇
- Comment on 6* months away now. If you're on 10, do you plan to upgrade? Make the jump to Linux? 3 days ago:
Why? I’ve been running a Surface Go 1 with Fedora since 2020 and I plan on keeping it until 2029 at least.
So I can’t ser the planned obsolescence except if you meant the ability to upgrade its internals…
- Comment on PlayStation’s extraordinary effort to preserve its game-making history 1 week ago:
Yeah I guess so.
That’s why I’ll soon be getting a Steam Deck to sit alongside my Playstation.
It’s my first move towards Linux gaming.
- Comment on PlayStation’s extraordinary effort to preserve its game-making history 1 week ago:
I ain’t so convinced to be honest, but I’m always jeeping an eye on their moves.
Playstation 6 will really reveal a lot about their plans.
We might have a fully retrocompatible console with a (optional) disc drive.
We might also have a digital only console with subscriptions.
Ii it’s the later, I’ll be jumping to Linux gaming.
- Comment on PlayStation’s extraordinary effort to preserve its game-making history 1 week ago:
If they do this, I might leave Sony. But I don’t think they would such a thing except if they really remive every physical drive, which would also make me think about leaving.
- Comment on PlayStation’s extraordinary effort to preserve its game-making history 1 week ago:
Clearly the article is about game preservation. Could they do more? Of course but it’s already a start.
Let’s hope the PS6 lets you play games from every generation before.

And also how do you manage to play so much?
- Comment on Xbox Handheld: Rumors And Release Date Possibilities Explained 2 weeks ago:
It would be lovely to let Microsoft subsidize and just put Linux on it as a big fuck you while letting Valve save some money on the R&D required to build a Steam Deck 2
- Comment on "There comes a time when we all declare the war is over": Former PlayStation Studios boss Shawn Layden on the future of video game consoles 2 weeks ago:
This is a really interesting article!
I’m all for an end to exclusivities. Just let me enjoy whatever I want on whatever platform I want as long as it’s optimized enough.
If Xbox people get Uncharted, I ain’t gonna cry as long as I get Gears of War for instance.

This helped save a few of the earphones you get with iPhones.
- Comment on What if we started uploading YT videos to PeerTube? 1 month ago:
I think every creator should be contacted before doing duch a thing and I guess a lot would not agree since most of them wouldn’t make any money on Peertube except if people support them through something like Patreon.
- Comment on The Last of Us totally blew me away 1 month ago:
A really great game, only bested by the second one.
I played it a few times on ps3, then once on the PS4. I got my PS5 with the remake but I sold the game as it didn’t need a remake since nothing about it was old.
- Comment on Former Sony Exec Believes PlayStation 6 Will Retain Optical Disc Support 2 months ago:
If they want to keep me on their platform they’ll probably have to, otherwise it’s gonna be a Linux PC for me with all the hassle PC gaming means in my eyes.
- Comment on Call of Duty's massive development budgets revealed: $700 million for Black Ops Cold War 2 months ago:
Yeah it really makes me think something has to change.
Especially since an Fps should cost less than open world with lots of characters and locations.
- Comment on Call of Duty's massive development budgets revealed: $700 million for Black Ops Cold War 2 months ago:
These numbers sound insane. I wonder how it compares to the developpment costs of other big games.
I also wonder how it conpares to the cost of similar games like Killzone 3 or Gears Of War from 15 years ago.

- Comment on You Pay For It, We Own It - Sony's $7.9B Lawsuit 4 months ago:
Good luck to that lawsuit!
I’ve nothing against Sony, but I want some of these companies to lose some of these cases just to remind them that we should own what we buy.
- Comment on Cyberpunk 2077 released in December 2020. Almost 4 years later, what is your opinion on it? 4 months ago:
I’ve played through the normal game and the expansion. I loved the universe, but the gameplay isn’t so great to be honest.
Also I often struggled with dialogues, selecting one sentence and not understanding why I’d have to kill everyone around after making this choice (Maman Brigitte for instance). But this might be just me😇
I recommend playing these games and I’ll play both at least twice.
- Comment on Ghost of Tsushima - I've heard it's a nice game, but it overstays its welcome. Do you agree? 5 months ago:
That’s so true and that’s why I’m getting tired of open world games and really trying to space them evenly with a few « normal » games inbetween.
I kind of miss linear games.

Yeah reddit is often appearing in my search results when I look for something and I don’t mind looking at Reddit posts that way, even if I’m not interacting anymore.
It’s true that you have a lot of pretentious and non open minded people on Lemmy. Of course if you just say that Linux isn’t useful, I can’t blame them for telling you politely the contrary 😅
- Comment on M4 Mac Mini Power Button Has New Bottom Location 5 months ago:
A lot of negligible things added together can make a lot.
My computers are perfectly up to date by just running the software update manager while using them.
But of course, being veggie, not having kids, biking or walking has a bigger impact than just turning off your computer.
As I have two lovely kids and my work involves a lot of car travel, I can’t blame you for not turning off your computer though 😇
- Comment on M4 Mac Mini Power Button Has New Bottom Location 5 months ago:
Okay in such a case I understand why these machines shouldn’t be turned off.
But, for normal people using their computers for admin/gaming, I still think it’s one of the easy ways of saving a bit of energy.
- Comment on Reddit is profitable for the first time ever, with nearly 100 million daily users 5 months ago:
I’ve migrated from Reddit last year, and I can tell you that these results make me appreciate Lemmy even more.
It’s the same as Reddit but without any advertising 🥰
Now it would be nice to have nore communities outside of tech related ones.
- Comment on M4 Mac Mini Power Button Has New Bottom Location 5 months ago:
Why would they be idiots for wanting to turn these computers off?
If the computers aren’t running something important while not in use, I think they should turn them off as we’re already wasting far too much energy.
I might be missing something, but it sounds like leaving your car running or leaving lights on in your home the whole year.
- Comment on M4 Mac Mini Power Button Has New Bottom Location 5 months ago:
I feel like it’s such a waste of energy when powering off your computer when you’re not using it is so easy.
- Comment on Whatever happened to racing games 5 months ago:
What I find crazy is that on Playstation you got Gran Turismo in 2022 I think and there’ll be no other concurrent until Asseto Corsa Evo in probably 2026.
I’ve already so many hours of going around the Ring in GT7, but I’d really h’love an extension with a new career mode and new trophies until Asseto Corsa Evo.
- Comment on Nostalgia and remake culture 5 months ago:
Well the magic of a remake is that you can still poay the old game if you’re not happy with it😅
- Comment on Nostalgia and remake culture 5 months ago:
I have no problem with remakes as long as they aren’t just trying to grab some cash from you without any work.
I’ve really enjoyed the Final Fantasy VII remakes or the Planet of the Apes remakes. Yes they aren’t perfect, but it feels like some passion was put into these projects.
As long as we aren’t just getting remakes, I have nothing against it. And sometimes remakes even have more originality than another generic game.
