- Comment on GOG's new owner says Steam is winning due to ease of use, not quality, while criticizing the platform for releasing hundreds of games daily that are "not super high quality" 4 days ago:
I’m trying to buy around 50% of my games on GOG and the other 50% on Steam.
Clearly the ease of use award goes to Steam, especially on Linux.
Gog is still okay thanks to Heroic but it is a commitment with no background downloading on Steam Deck and slow downloads.
I guess we, gamers, only have to make sure that Valve still has competition so that they can’t just turn evil.
For now, I really appreciate how Valve is supporting Linux and I appreciate how GOG understand that we want to own our games and play them forever.

Do you have an example of such a game? No reduction after 10 years sounds really weird.
- Comment on we need more users 6 days ago:
I agree with you but I would still want numbers to go up a little bit, not down the way they are apparently.
- Comment on AI-Induced RAM Crunch Could Push Next PlayStation and Xbox Past 2028 2 weeks ago:
Exactly! The good part of such a shortage is that old tech can stay relevant for far longer and devs will have to optimize more.
Sometimes, therés a lot of good in a bad situation.
I want great games, not necessarly more demanding ones. The Last of Us 2 is still the most beautiful game I’ve played and I don’t really need more if it means getting new hardware.

I’d also love to have a normal PS5 partition and a Linux one. This would be the best of both worlds, but I think I’m dreaming too much😇
- Comment on GOG is getting acquired by its original co-founder: What it means for you 2 weeks ago:
My downloads are at maybe 2 MB/S through Heroic (officialy 0.5 MB/S but I think the numer dispoayed is wrong) and Firefox, slower than on Steam even if my connection isn’t crazy.
I keep the games installed and move the installation between internal and external storage.
- Comment on GOG is getting acquired by its original co-founder: What it means for you 2 weeks ago:
Through Heroic I think you can just import an already installed game you have on an external hard drive. Wouldn’t this allow you to use your game on every new computer you get?
The downloads are really slow through Heroic, so I’d prefer not having to download offline installers on top of it😅
- Comment on GOG is getting acquired by its original co-founder: What it means for you 2 weeks ago:
I might be stupid, but what’s the point of downloading offline installers. Isn’t a game installed through Heroic or Gog Galaxy playable offline, which would mean it would still be useable if GOG went bankrupt?
- Comment on Disco Elysium - The Final Cut is free to claim on epic games for the next 24h 3 weeks ago:
Oh yeah I fully agree that no game can satisfy everyone.
It’s just that, before playing it myself, I never heard a bad thing about it so I might have expected too much out of it.
Still I enjoyed it, even if it’s not a game I’ll recommend to everyone.

What is the difference with Lemmy? What’s better and worse with Piefed?

It’s a great game, but not the masterpiece everyone told me.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 3 weeks ago:
I’m starting the Metro series instead of you then. Enjoying 2033 even if characters and storytelling is a bit stereotypical for now.
- Comment on Sony's Naughty Dog Studio Orders Employee Overtime on ‘Intergalactic’ 4 weeks ago:
I’ve loved Uncharted and the Last of Us, but this one isn’t attracting me for now…
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 5 weeks ago:
Mafia Definitive Edition on Steam Deck it works well except you can’t see what button you’re supposed to press.
Once you know the controls you can just enjoy the superb atmosphere and surprizingly great gunfights!
- Comment on Where's the best point to jump into modern Resident Evil? 1 month ago:
I enjoyed Resident Evil as a teenager, then came number 4 which I played, but didn’t enjoy.
I played number 5 with a friend as it was one of the few coop games available but I didn’t like it.
When number 7 came out, everyone praised it. I hated it and decided that Resident Evil really wasn’t for me anymore despite loving number 1, 0 and Code Veronica.

Good as developpers should optimize instead of just counting on more powerful hardware.

- Comment on Nearly 90% of Windows Games now run on Linux, latest data shows — as Windows 10 dies, gaming on Linux is more viable than ever 2 months ago:
Linux gaming is good enough that I would consider not getting the Playstation 6 if I didn’t have kids and didn’t want to watch basketball through the nba league pass.
I’m trying to get my kids to play with the Steam Deck, but it’s honestly still not as good as a Playstation for such a use.
Still it’s going the right way.
- Comment on 2 months ago:
It would be a good deal if you kept the games forever, but since they’re linked to your subscription, it ain’t worth it to me😇

- Comment on Ex PlayStation exec says Sony can't keep "increasing the graphics power" with new consoles after tech plateau, but PS5 has already "made almost every game a better game" 2 months ago:
Why would you wish to be highly sensitive to an increase/decrease in fps.
That’s just a curse and you should be happy you don’t have it.
You can just enjoy more games with a cheaper pc/console.
- Comment on Ex PlayStation exec says Sony can't keep "increasing the graphics power" with new consoles after tech plateau, but PS5 has already "made almost every game a better game" 2 months ago:
People are criticizing Playstation, but I’m still really happy to have a Playstation 5 alongside my Steam Deck.
As much as I love playing old games on the deck and it has now become my main console, I’m happy to have my Playstation 5 for demanding games (mostly sim racing) and to watch blurays.
Having a powerful PC would not bring me the versatility my Steam Deck/Playstation 5/Surface Go 1 is giving me for now.
Although that might change if the Playstation 6 comes without blurays.
I don’t understand why some PC people feel the need to say consoles are useless, when it’s only to them that they would be.
- Comment on GOG Has Had To Hire Private Investigators To Track Down IP Rights Holders 2 months ago:
Did you mean this? If there is nothing written, does it mean the game is DRM free as if we were on GOG?
- Comment on GOG Has Had To Hire Private Investigators To Track Down IP Rights Holders 2 months ago:
Oh I’m gonna have a look at my games out of curiosity then.
- Comment on GOG Has Had To Hire Private Investigators To Track Down IP Rights Holders 2 months ago:
How do you know if a Steam game is DRM free or not?
How do you install such games without Steam through Linux? Is it just an .exe and you click on it as I haven’t done it since probably the early 00’s?
- Comment on GOG Has Had To Hire Private Investigators To Track Down IP Rights Holders 2 months ago:
I’m trying to buy 50% of my games on Gog because they avoir DRM and 50% on Steam because they’re great Linux supporters.
Still I can understand why Steam is ahead in terms to f sale as GOG has some progress to do.
- Comment on Xbox consoles are getting a price bump. Again. 3 months ago:
Yeah but don’t forget that GamePass is also costing them a lot of money.
- Comment on Xbox consoles are getting a price bump. Again. 3 months ago:
Yeah but you forgot chip prices and tariffs so I don’t think their margins have improved by so much…
- Comment on Xbox consoles are getting a price bump. Again. 3 months ago:
Yeah but allowing players to have steam games would mean not recovering the money invested in subsidizing the console since there is no money made on selling them.
That only works when Xbox is only gonna be a brand and not console makers.
- Comment on New Valve trademark for 'Steam Frame', looks like we're getting new hardware 4 months ago:
And you can get a used LCD for cheap now that it has been out for a while.
And I can tell you that the screen is already more than good enough for me with really good colors.
