- Comment on Why aren't you creating more workers?? 3 days ago:
The problem developed nations are currently facing is that we need enough young people working to continue to support the current population as it ages and retires. The absolute population probably doesn’t need to be as big as it is (unless you plan on starting a war like Russia for example) but it’s not clear how to manage a reducing population gracefully.

Good ole’ Mt Cozy Couscous. To be fair, no one forced the Poles to make their language unpronounceable by anyone without a lifetime’s practice or severe sinus issues.

It’s just a BS survey by an ISP, I wouldn’t read too much into it. Aside from anything else it would imply that 29% of adults in Ireland don’t sleep for more than an hour at a time…

Right? I had a fresh mug of coffee to the left of me when I read it, feels like the scolding alone would make that worse than a no staff without getting into the damage a shattering mug could do.

Fun fact: the producers were only allowed a pregnancy storyline on the condition that it not last more than 34 episodes.

They’re not humans though, they’re cartoon pigs. And cartoon pigs fucking is a fairly niche porn category.
- Comment on Lab-grown teeth might become an alternative to fillings following research breakthrough 3 months ago:
We have different ideas to put the teeth inside the mouth. We could transplant the young tooth cells at the location of the missing tooth and let them grow inside mouth. Alternatively, we could create the whole tooth in the lab before placing it in the patient’s mouth.
I assume option 1 at least would lead to the nerve connections naturally growing as the tooth does. Regardless, this still seems in the super early lab-proof-of-concept stage so I guess the ultimate answer is we don’t know yet.

It’s far from universal, the impression probably comes from the general left leaning bias of online Brits and the fact that people that don’t like her tend to really fucking hate her due to her policies leading to the complete devastation of entire communities.
- Comment on glorious stock 4 months ago:
I believe that would be MarketAxess (MKTX) which largely deals in bonds AFAIK. Given that bonds are the traditional safe haven asset when traders see the market shitting the bed, them doing well isn’t necessarily the best sign for overall market health…
- Comment on Climate-denying conservatives after every year for the last decade has been the hottest on record [Day 105] 5 months ago:
To be a pedant, the ten hottest years on record have all been within the past decade but each of the past ten years hasn’t been the hottest on record. E.g. 2021 was (slightly) cooler than 2020 and so wasn’t a record year (but was still hotter than any year pre-2014).
