- Comment on Who all is out there, setting different sensitivities for X and Y on their mouse settings? Does anybody actually do this? 7 months ago:
I have used them, mainly FPS games. I also have built in functionality to change my mouse sensitivity in my mouse. There’s a “sniper mode” button as well that will change the sensitivity whilst the button is pressed to allow me to be more precise (not that I use that as I don’t play many games like that)
I used the separate x and y options when I was using a tracker ball once. It went slower vertical than it did horizontally so being able to change them individually was a huge help.
Other people that might make use of this feature (and perhaps even render a game unplayable without it) is disabled people, I don’t have experience here, but it’s not hard to imagine use cases, poor hand mobility, limited reach etc.

What’s the story behind the company? I tried playing the game a while back but didn’t get through it for one reason or another. I have recently reinstalled it, was going to try it again.

How would you police it? Can’t know if someone is using their device if they’re not holding it, they could be singing to the radio or talking to themselves.
- Comment on How has your Lemmy experience changed over the past few months? 1 year ago:
I’m having no issues avoiding American politics. When I started Lemmy I just used all and blocked any communities that put out stuff I didn’t want to see, politics, furry porn etc now my all feed is pretty well curated, my experience with 12 years on Reddit was not the same I couldn’t avoid the American politics, as people posted them in subs where they had no business being.

Don’t think the tree was on his land, just that people cut across his land to get to the tree

I’ve heard the dad put the lad up to it. He was tired of people walking across his land to take pictures of the tree. Allegedly I don’t have any proof for any of this other than word of mouth. I’ve also read it’s unlikely a 16yo that can’t drive got (what must have been a very large) chainsaw to the tree in the night during stormy weather and cut a tree down in a way that people claim to be more advanced than an amateur tree feller could. Again all conjecture but the comments I’ve seen making these claims went into details on they why’s they thought that and it felt convincing but I don’t know much on the topic. Either way it’s a tragedy, the tree had been there 100’s of years.

Life’s only hard because of exploitation. It doesn’t have to be, things need to change.

Push down the right stick on the controller.
You can also enter your ship cargo from the “ship” section of the menu.
You’ll be able to find the menu with ease, going into that is like 90% of the game.

If they manage to get past that, you should attach a paint can to some rope and have it rigged to swing towards them if they are coming up the stairs.

You know you’re not paying for “no ads” right? You’re simply using an alternative payment method. If somebody can’t afford something you’re suggesting we exclude them? Make it paid for only? The ads serve as payment for those without the means or are just unwilling to pay and still get the same options as everyone else. For someone that hates capitalism you’re sure good at preaching it.

It does seem like a large number of Lemmy users are elitist snobs. I thought this place was turning out better than Reddit, but it’s looking like I was wrong. People like that ruin platforms like this and sour the experience.
