So i recently got banned over at a Discord community and i also got my NSFW Lemmy account banned.
And i feel my predicament is due to the following reasons:
-
On the Discord case, i asked another member if i could get a copy of a certain NSFW game (which the entire community is based on) to try and make a console port.
-
And on the Lemmy case, i created an account on a NSFW instance and i started to upload +18 content on a “Rule 34” community (bear in mind, i always marked my posts with the NSFW tag.
What pisses me off is that in both cases i do not recall having broke the rules of the instance/communities. Nor did i recieve any warning nor contact from any moderator telling me what did i do wrong.
Guys, we are supposedly building communities that satisfy our needs outside of the main platforms (Facebook, X, Reddit, etc.)
If we want this to work, we need to have good comunication between moderation and users. Automating too many tasks or banning people without proper justification
We need to work for a better web!

Nah doesn’t seem like it. Instance admins are way more paranoid than Reddit and co ever were. Lemmyworld last week had a spam problem with some bots posting cp, and other instances instead of showing support have defederated. Which is generally the preferred option to deal with things - defederation and bans.
Altho, looking at my blocklist of hundreds of users and communities, who am I to talk…
(Pasting here bc your other post got deleted.)
