- Comment on I don't want to call Twitter X out of spite, but calling the travesty that is X Twitter is an insult to the people that made Twitter what it was. 3 weeks ago:
Best name to call it is to just not call it anything. Don’t talk about it. Let it die.
- Comment on Comedy shows have laugh tracks cuz they aren't that funny 2 months ago:
Same reason tiktok and instagram reels are overlaid with that dumb wheezing laugh track.
- Comment on The appearance of your letter spam depends on your keyboard layout. 3 months ago:
WARS to my fellow Colemak users.
- Comment on 13 is just owo taking a nap 3 months ago:
I think it’s saying you start with owo but then do the vertical equivalent of that emoji which would be :3 then 13 I guess is the eyes are closed? That’s the best I got.
- Comment on If we took material like rock from space and got it back to Earth enough times, would Earth grow as a planet? 6 months ago:
One of the proposed methods for terraforming Mars is to lob a bunch of icy rocks at it. That would increase its mass but more significantly also the energy of the falling rocks would convert to heat and melt the ice into water. So enough energy to increase Earth’s size would also heat the surface and kill life.
- Comment on I like seeing the numbers go up 9 months ago:
It’s about the journey not the destination.
- Comment on Birds don't really fly, they are swimming through the air. 10 months ago:
But spoons are just tiny bowls to get food from the bigger bowl, man!
- Comment on The word Unicorn is uni-corn, as in one corn(horn). That means we could also use bicorn, tricorn, etc. 10 months ago:
The post is in the positives so I think you’re ok. If I had to guess on the downvotes though it’s not really a groundbreaking discovery that uni-corn can be broken into two words like that.
- Comment on The word Unicorn is uni-corn, as in one corn(horn). That means we could also use bicorn, tricorn, etc. 10 months ago:
The butterfly from The Last Unicorn told us this.

- Comment on Best use of extra HDDs 11 months ago:
I would redo my raid to allow for the extra drives or shelf them to have as spares I can swap in in the event of a failure.
- Comment on Modern centralized version control systems? 11 months ago:
What is it you need that a centralized version control system offers that a distributed version control system doesn’t? For instance you could use git or pijul for a monorepo.
- Comment on Imagine if all this discount programs were linked not to the card, but to the bag. Bringing the same rugged bag with a chip could've become a new normal. 11 months ago:
What would the chip contain? Storing your credit card information on a bag? And then you have to somehow tap that chip against a reader when it’s full of your contents?
- Comment on The key to eternal life and never dying is to stay in the living room. Don't leave the living room. 11 months ago:
Living room is by the front door so setting up the hospice bed in the large room with the easiest access to the exit makes sense.
- Comment on We always imagine that if humans had tails they'd be furry tails but they'd actually probably be hairless like our bodies 11 months ago:
There are humans that have born with tails (long coccyx protrusion) and this is correct. Go look up images.

I did speak for myself. I said “In my opinion”.
- Comment on Mozilla will move Firefox development from Mercurial to Microsoft’s GitHub 1 year ago:
Working in a busy codebase for a long time when I have to spend time a non-trivial amount of time triaging through tickets I can’t reproduce that is taking time away from legitimate bug and request tickets I can be working on. It can seriously lead to burnout.
- Comment on Mozilla will move Firefox development from Mercurial to Microsoft’s GitHub 1 year ago:
In my opinion that sounds like a plus. People that are too lazy to register an account to put in a code merge request or report a bug aren’t going to be writing quality code or quality bug reports.
- Comment on If you have a kitchen hammer, you should also have a poop knife. 1 year ago:
If you tenderize the meat before you eat it you shouldn’t have to tenderize it after it comes back out.
- Comment on Community seems dead. Can we mirror reddit posts here? 1 year ago:
Rather than mirror reddit posts here, you can set up a dedicated community for that so people that want that kind of thing can get it. No need to kill an existing community further.

Give it POE support and a rack-mountable enclosure and the homelab crowd would love this.
- Comment on With the advances of medicine in the coming millennium casual conversations might be like "I'm 245", "Oh, I'm 332", "Damn, I'm just 119" 1 year ago:

- Comment on Some people just can't place themselves 1 year ago:
Think about it though. When people say they want to “code AI” what they typically mean is they want to play with prompts and waste electricity on garbage models, not actually write any of the underlying models that power AI.
