I believe this wasn’t the first day of the tournament so it wasn’t right before it started.
I’m sure he normally would follow the rules but their is a saying “exception to every rule” for a reason. I don’t know the circumstances, I don’t even know the guy, I’m sure their were other ways it could be handled. I just think this article and this headline portray the event in the worst light.

I very well could have run to my room and change the shirt. But it was a call from my boss so I answered and he said we were hoping on a call to discuss this crisis and I said ok. It wasn’t until I looked at my picture on zoom that I nice what I was wearing and at that point we were 20 minutes into the call. Anyone paying attention would have already seen the shirt and I figured it would be stranger for me to stop the camera and run and change the shirt.

Against dress code, is what the article I read yesterday said. Even though you can wear slacks made to look like jeans, as long as they are not denim they are fine.

The article I read yesterday about it was skewed a little different.
He was out for lunch with a friend and went straight to the tournament after and forgot he was wearing jeans. He offered to change them for the next day but they said he had to do it now, at which point he said it was a matter of principal and walked off. I know I have no idea how the “societal elite” live but I don’t carry an extra set of pants on me when I go places.
As someone who accidentally ended up on a management level web cam meeting with a “death and taxes” being the only thing you can count on shirt, I understand not realizing what you are wearing in the morning. I have since made changes to what I allow myself to wear on working days

You missed the (and doing it properly) part. Could you do it on his setup? sure. Could you do it on your setup recommendations? Sure. Could you do it on a little raspberry pi? Probably. A industry standard best practice for backup is 3-2-1. Do all companies follow industry best practices? Heavens no. Redundancy is great, it may save you from calling someone at triple rates for after hours support only to find your one 48 port switch failed. It’s all about what risk you are willing to take on any of this.

Because the last dog I rescued cost me $7k in vet bills and needed to be put down a month and a half later due to health issues. We had him just long enough to get attached. Then i spent all night with him puking up more blood then i thought he could have in him. If I buy a puppy from a breeder I know it’s genetics and can make sure it doesn’t have pre existing conditions from abuse.
Miss you Fen…

I agree with the others but here is some advice when you are happy being alone.
Don’t let the search for a gf become a large part of your life again. I was on all the dating apps and whatnot thinking I was ready to have a gf and I still think I was. But the search started consuming me i spent an hour or two a day reading profiles and going through pictures to try to find the right one. i would read the bios of girls and think about how perfect we would be together and swipe on them. If a girl swipped on me even if she wasn’t up to my standards I would swipe just because… maybe if I give her a chance… it would work.
After maybe a year of that, numerous dates and spiraling depression I realized what it was doing to me. I found a half way decent dating app and canceled all the other subscriptions. Then I just started trading it as a game, 5/10 minutes here or there throughout the week and that was it. I was in a much better place. Fast forward 3 months and my gf actually swiped on me, fast forward a year and we are expecting our first kid.
- Comment on CrowdStrike downtime apparently caused by update that replaced a file with 42kb of zeroes 6 months ago:
I mean yes, but one of the issuess with “state of the art av” is they are trying to roll out updates faster than bad actors can push out code to exploit discovered vulnerabilities.
The code/config/software push may have worked on some test systems but MS is always changing things too.

I mean not really. I know people that take public flights from GRR to Ohair because they don’t want to drive 3 hours and world rather fly 30 minutes. If someone without a private jet is willing to do that. Imagine what someone with a private jet would do

OK so yeah, that guy doing it if crazy. That has been covered. But that also looks to be at ground level where anyone can walk by and touch it?!?! That seems like a bad idea too

I’m going to go out on a limb and say i don’t think they found the pyramid whole and moved the entire thing. I think they took small pieces, possibly block shaped and moved those one at a time

Military members of either side have the option to not shoot the human shields. Yes, maybe it will require a surgical strike via spec ops instead of a javelin missle. Maybe you can’t blow up that military target due to it being in a hospital. Sure militarily that is a less than ideal outcome but then you would not be on the global stage needing to defend your warcrimes.
Just a thought

This is what got me. 1. I couldn’t believe he would come out and say it. 2. When i watch the clip he was saying “Just ask Earth”
What do you mean ask earth? Is it a dumb way of saying “the history books will tell the tale” or “the people will know what happened”. Just ask earth… i thought he was advocating about global warming or some shit

I’m not an engineer, or have any real qualifications on the subject. But I’m guessing you would want to cut all transmissions you can from a stealth jet.
