- Comment on Google creating an AI agent to use your PC on your behalf, says report | Same PR nightmare as Windows Recall 2 weeks ago:
I heavily use both platforms, whatever I talk about or wherever I go, I see targeted ads. When I speak about brand X, I immediately see ads for it both in ios and android. Plus every device mic is being listened to all the time, advertising agencies are your proof. Sure android devices collect more data in practice, however the data that’s not being collected by ios can be inferred from the data that’s already been collected. Do you really believe a company when they say their devices are made to ensure your privacy? Google literally says the same thing on their privacy policies ;) it’s all legal mumbo jumbo that doesn’t mean what it’s supposed to.

The data collection happens on both ends. Apple only lies that it is about privacy and whatnot. Gives you a false sense of safety.

I guess it depends on your main goal. I started out as a gambler then lost a bunch of money and started actually investing. But at the end of the day every transaction you make can be called a gamble.

Depends on how you look at it. CS is the only thing I’ve been playing after years of gaming and I think it will stay that way due to the simplicity and the familiarity of the game.

I totally understand your views, although I’m paying this platform to not show me ads, that money should then go to the creators if they have to insert ads into their videos for some change. This is the platform’s fault.
- Comment on YouTube has found a new way to load ads | AdGuard Blog 1 month ago:
Definitely avoid Pixels. They look better than most Android devices in terms of software imo, although it’s because they’re really locking down the firmware similar to iOS, which breaks the purpose of using Android anyway. Also the processor on the Pixels are even behind 5-6 year old phones.
Btw…Google Maps has ads already, the square icons are all ads paid by the place owners. Routing is fishy yes, because they’re actively routing people through different routes in order to collect data for their algorithms.
The biggest reason I still use Google products is there is no alternative and they fully know this.

Only if premium did not have ads. They show you ad videos as if they’re part of your “recommendations”. They also allow creators to get sponsorships within videos. So even the premium experience isn’t really ad-free and they tout that shit everywhere.
- Comment on YouTube has found a new way to load ads | AdGuard Blog 1 month ago:
The fucked up part is that I have to use SponsorBlock even with Premium. I thought I was paying for no ads…like wtf?
- Comment on YouTube has found a new way to load ads | AdGuard Blog 1 month ago:
The sad thing is they inject ads to your feed even if you have premium. I keep seeing product videos in my feed named “Meet the x product”. Youtube and google is just shameless and I’m pretty sure they’re breaking a bunch of laws.

Pihole will not work because it works on the DNS queries. With server side injection it’s gonna be tougher to block ads, but I’m sure we’ll find a way

Considering these things can run heavy stuff even through emulation means the performance is there. The codes that these things run is just not optimized for the architecture yet. Once that’s done, I dont see a problem but yeah it’s early stages

Well arm cpu’s get you insane battery life (ie. Macbook M series or new snapdragons). The architecture has not settled in yet but it will take some time

Other media companies use bots to boost streams all the time. Hence the mostly shitty popular music of today. The kind of music you make does not matter today, how you market it or ‘boost’ it does.

Yeah I miss small phones. My Galaxy s10e and iPhone 13 mini were great. They just stopped making small phones for some reason. Today’s “normal sized” phones would be considered tablets 10 years ago. But hey, my hands ain’t growing…

They should have just merged the two products. Instead of coming up with Gemini, they could have added LLM features to the Assistant. On a Samsung phone, you now have Bixby, Assistant and Gemini lol.

No, unfortunately I switched to an iPhone to limit Google’s tracking endeavors. I love Android, but Google has ruined it with constant tracking in my eyes.
- Comment on YouTube tests server-side ads to make your coveted blocker obsolete 3 months ago:
I’ve tried every music streaming service out there with their premium subscriptions and they’re really not that different. After a month of usage they all loop the same songs over and over again. It seems YouTube also adopted this because it’s been recommending me the same things over and over and over.

Premium also has lots of ads in your feed (disguised as product videos) and videos include sponsorships ads.
