Today I asked AI to tell me which phone providers were available short by price and offers and it lied all the time, when I pointed it the AI corrected most of it but also removed some that were accurate for some reason.
It would have been quicker if I did that myself instead of ask AI, oh also didn’t provide all companies.

No it doesn’t. It’s in plural. A blog is a single person creating and sharing, others may comment but that’s it. It’s a single person, that’s why I used newspaper sites, they don’t facilitate the creation, sharing and aggregation of content amongst virtual communities and network.

I disagree. By definition social media is “a site that facitilates the creation, sharing and aggregation of content amongst virtual communities and networks” so Reddit and Lemmy are social networks.

He is talking about forums because the main issue with discord is that it’s cut from the rest of the internet so nothing is indexed and a lot of platforms and services use discord like a forum (it isn’t).
No one wants our conversations indexed, and discord shouldn’t be a forum.

Obviously the problem isn’t you and your friends, the problems is services that use discord like it’s a forum, dispatcharr for example “oh do you want support? Join our discord”. Fine, I’ll figure it out myself.

If government, the ones that issue those documents, are insecure and untrustworthy what more about shorty companies with questionable products? I have already informed the people in one of the servers I use that the moment they ask me for Auth like that I am out.

I am running EndeavourOS and it’s possible to function without terminal. I use it because I love it but no need at least not for app installing having Discover.

To selfhost you first need to know what you want to do, do you want your own vpn service? your website? home assistant? then you decide what you need to host it and start building from that.
I, for example, started the serious journey in 2016 with a raspberry pi 3.
