I don’t know what I’m doing but I’m here now…
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 4 days ago:
I know I’ve played it before but that would be back in the day 20+ years ago. So it feels like my first time again.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
There was a firmware update (Knulli) for my Flip handheld so after doing that I’m now playing FFTA and other random GBA games.
- Comment on When was the last time you actually laughed while playing a game? 1 week ago:
Portal 2 is a classic and I enjoyed Tales from the Borderlands.
- Comment on Is the Sega Dreamcast worth playing in 2025? | Lady Arcade 1 week ago:
Without a doubt yes. Always yes.
- Comment on [Mujin] It's Time to Accept That Nintendo is a Supervillain 1 week ago:
I’m less than a minute in and I’d hardly call Nintendo petty for wanting to stop someone naming their shop “Super Mario” and with a picture of Mario as the logo… It couldn’t look any more Nintendo-esque.

Jump Space
Playing with a mate and it’s a lot of fun. It’s a new game so not quite “patient gamer” but it’s cheap enough that I’m fine with it and looking forward to updates.
Football Manager
It got a hold of me these past couple days. I wanted something chill to do while I drink my coffee but then time just flies by… and it’s suddenly 3 hours later :/
- Comment on Which game would you erase from your memory, in order to experience it fresh once again? 1 week ago:
I found the game to be better overall when you bump the difficulty up to hard or very hard and avoid using vehicles.
I bought a PS5 recently so I’m going to do another run through on the directors cut version and then on to DS2 which I’m excited for.
Keep on keeping on.

Death Stranding
I went it to that totally blind and holy shit was it amazing. It’s not even my usual type of game so I have no idea why I picked it up.
- Comment on similar to the word of mouth post, what game did you not expect much from but loved it? 2 weeks ago:
Mad Max
Could have been just movie tie-in garbage but is a solid top 20 game from last gen.

Mad Max
I’ve played it before and own it on a few platforms but it is £2.99 on Xbox at the moment so thought why not. It looks and plays great with the auto HDR and FPS boost and is kind of the perfect game to jump in/out of using quick resume. Started a new save this afternoon and will probably try and get some of the achievements I missed first time round.
Also been playing some demos on Steam and looking forward to a few of them. Tavern Keeper is my favourite so far.

I’m always tempted to try private servers but never get around to it.

Dreamcast was my first time going online at home, even before getting a pc, so I bought every online game I could and PSO was the best of them.

I haven’t thought about this beauty in a long time.

Star Wars Squadrons is pretty good fun.
- Comment on What's your greatest "gaming high" you've been chasing ever since? Please take care not to spoil anything, if you are going to be story-specific. 3 weeks ago:
For me it’s probably playing online games like BF2, Day of Defeat Source, TF2 and Live for Speed in about 2005-07. Communities and community servers back then were different and sorely missed.

GBA is a worthy winner.
- Comment on I just want to rush down a steep ramp, jump, hear whooshing sounds and land (with skis on my feet and in first person) for points. 3 weeks ago:
Steep has an Olympics dlc but I’ve not played it so can’t say for sure if it’s what you’re after. The main game is amazing though.
- Comment on Once again, looking for PS2 game suggestions! 4 weeks ago:
- The Mark of Kri
- Maximo
- Jake and Daxter
- Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3
- Timesplitters
- The Warriors
- Tourist Trophy
I’m playing through Yakuza at the moment and never bothered with HD textures before so will have a look at that myself.
- Comment on Recommendations for the current sale 4 weeks ago:
Oh ok. Your comment sounded like the standard “I won’t play because it’s not on Steam” that people say but I hope you enjoy it.
I have a great love for games that have a snow/winter themed and ROTTR is no exception as it’s a beautiful game.
- Comment on I finally decided to go full piracy against big companies 4 weeks ago:
This is the best way. Give your time and money to something you believe in instead of wasting a moment on something you don’t.
- Comment on Recommendations for the current sale 4 weeks ago:
If you won’t play it because of Epic(?) then it’s your loss I guess as it’s a great game.
- Comment on Recommendations for the current sale 4 weeks ago:
Rise of the Tomb Raider is only £2.50 on GOG which is a great deal. In my opinion it’s by far the best in the newest trilogy.

Wipeout is one of my favourite series so wanted to share this. Almost certainly it started my love of the genre and other games like Rollcage, Fast Racing Neo, F-Zero, Reddout and GRIP.

My friend nextdoor had a Master System. I remember playing a lot of California Games, especially surfing and footbag.
- Comment on Updates to Xbox Game Pass: Introducing Essential, Premium, and Ultimate Plans - Xbox Wire [prices going up] 4 weeks ago:
It started off very good actually with the £1 upgrades and converting existing subs (so 3 years of Game Pass for £70!) but it’s time has come to an end.

I’ve been in the mood for some arcade racing this week:
Wreckfest but it seems like the multiplayer has mostly died off which is sad as C class racing was a blast.
Split/Second, racing and explosions so always a good time.
