I don’t know what I’m doing but I’m here now…
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 1 week ago:
This was a game earlier today with a great shot overlooking a chapel area in the middle of the map. All the detail is quite overwhelming at the start but its so good when you dig in to it.

Call to Arms - Gates of Hell: Ostfront
I’ve been playing a lot of skirmish matchups with the ai recently. Its a good looking game too so makes great screenshots.
Pikmin
I only have the Emperor Bulblax left to do. I initially started the Nintendo Switch version but changed over to GameCube emulation on the PC so I can test out RetroAchievements. Its been fun and I’ll probably move on to Pikmin 2 soon.
Fable 2
My play through has stalled for a couple weeks now…
- Comment on Great weekly podcast about Retro Games 1 month ago:
I’ll add it this with another podcast that covers all games. The Wipeout series one from a few months back was great.
- Comment on GOG caught using AI tools, head of product tweeting AI Instagram scams 1 month ago:
It’s sad to see so I’m going to keep a close eye on what GOG do from here.
- Comment on Is the Xbox One X a good console/4k player in 2026? 1 month ago:
If you can get a One X for $120 I’d consider that a great deal. I don’t think Xbox’s are particulary great for 4k blurays but if you are playing games too then its good enough.

**Fable Anniversary **
I’m about 10+ hours in now and just finished “The Arena” quest. I’ve only paid like 30 minutes of the game before so everything is new to me and I’m really enjoying it. I’m a big fan of Fable II so it’s nice to see everything in its original glory and learn where it all began.

- Comment on Games you really want to play, but can't or won't? 1 month ago:
I
likeliked the look of Subnautica but because of my thalassophobia I can’t play it. Now I wouldn’t play it anyway after the bullshit that was reported last year. - Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 2 months ago:
Apart from the daily 20 minutes on Animal Crossing New Leaf I’ve spent more time tinkering and “fixing” stuff than playing. The best thing I did was setup Syncthing on my emulator handhelds which I should have done a lot sooner but didn’t even think to.
- Comment on Why do you need a launcher? (asking older gamers actually) 2 months ago:
I’m not a fan of Steam or any launcher really but they have some useful features like friends lists and multiplayer updates. I don’t miss the times of downloading individual patches and having to insert a disc but nowadays has its own problems like “online” requirements for singleplayer and being forced to update. Thankfully GOG exists and some devs still offer DRM free versions and that’s my priority now.
- Comment on Mass Effect is one of the greatest games ever and EA makes good games 2 months ago:
I remember with ME2 (and around that time in general) we started getting “online passes” with games which was on top of already paying for Xbox Live. Sad times from EA and the other publishers.
Its a great trilogy though and ME1 is fantastic.
- Comment on Who buys crazy expensive "new retro" consoles and why? 2 months ago:
To the everyday person a Steam Deck and emulation are very niche so they buy what they know.
- Comment on New Fable game removes feature core to franchise's DNA 2 months ago:
I’m not convinced by the trailer/gameplay we’ve seen so far as it just
feelslooks so bland to me. Hopefully I’m wrong. - Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 2 months ago:
Animal Crossing New Leaf
I uncovered the 2DS’s while tidying up last week and thought I’d play a couple games. It’s been relaxing just playing for 20 minutes a day getting the fossils, bells/gem and a little chatting and fishing.
Halo CE
Still making my way through the campaign but I’ve slowed right down now after finished Reach a couple weeks ago. The game is fine but I’m not really enjoying the Series S at the moment for some reason.
Death Stranding 2
Really enjoying it still. I just get lost in walking everywhere so progress is slow but that’s how I like to do it :) I think I’m at the 2nd boss fight so putting it off a while longer as I explore more of the land.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 2 months ago:
I did the same a couple months ago. Mostly played PGR4 and was also thinking about the Fable games the other day.
- Comment on PC game recommendation for my partner and I 2 months ago:
Kingdom: Two Crowns is great fun in co-op.
- Comment on How do you feel on Kirby games? 2 months ago:
They are definitely on the easy side but that meant as a kid I could finish it and is one of favourite Game Boy games.
Kirby’s Dream Land has one of the best soundtracks too. Especially “green greens” which I love.
- Comment on What challenge from a game isn't worth completing and what challenge from a game is worth completing? 2 months ago:
Yeah I agree with this. Most achievements just don’t have the fun or inquisitive nature they should and are pretty much meaningless.
- Comment on What challenge from a game isn't worth completing and what challenge from a game is worth completing? 2 months ago:
Completing the Pokedex is pretty cool.
I’ve come close to getting all the capsule toys in Shenmue but in the end it was a lot if reloading saves and eventually I gave up. I barley finish any games so doing extra challenges is even rarer for me :/
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 2 months ago:
The start of DS is a little rough and it’s probably a solid 4 hours to get going. One you do though its top tier walking sim. I’d recommend actually walking and avoiding vehicles as much as possible to.

Death Stranding 2
It’s more of the same which is great. The game is gorgeous and so far after about 10 hours I’m really enjoying it. I can get lost for hours on a single delivery just walking and exploring everywhere :)
- Comment on As The Division 3 development continues, Ubisoft announces layoffs at Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Stockholm as part of 'a proposed organizational restructure' 2 months ago:
I know exactly the trailer you’re talking about. Obviously the game didn’t turn out that way but in my opinion The Division is an under-appreciated gem. It was absolutely awful at launch though and I think it took over a year to fix and adjust the gameplay.
- Comment on Sell n64 carts? 2 months ago:
Chance are they will go up in value but it also means holding on to them another 5 years or whatever. Maybe sell them and specifically put the money towards something cool you do want.
- Comment on we need more users 2 months ago:
Lemmy doesn’t have the niche communities and people don’t want to take the time to customise what it can do for them so get stuck in the same shit as reddit, so then they leave.
- Comment on Pet Peeves with Games? 2 months ago:
Games that jump straight into things without letting me see the options menu first.
Not having the Playstation icons as a preset when I want to use my PS4 controller on PC.
- Comment on Is it still possible to update a game on an Xbox 360? 2 months ago:
The 360 does still download game updates if that’s what you’re asking?
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 2 months ago:
Halo: Reach
So I finished up the campaign on Monday and it’s still as great as I remember. Noble Team :(
Satisfactory
Not normally my kind of game but my wife wanted to play together and it’s been fun. Our base is a mix of tidyness (her) and absolute mess (me)… So the perfect match.
- Comment on Mirror’s Edge Was Never Meant to Slow Down 2 months ago:
Catalyst is pretty good but I think making it more open takes away the urgency of free running, and that’s the most important part.
