I don’t know what I’m doing but I’m here now…
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 1 day ago:
Animal Crossing New Leaf
I uncovered the 2DS’s while tidying up last week and thought I’d play a couple games. It’s been relaxing just playing for 20 minutes a day getting the fossils, bells/gem and a little chatting and fishing.
Halo CE
Still making my way through the campaign but I’ve slowed right down now after finished Reach a couple weeks ago. The game is fine but I’m not really enjoying the Series S at the moment for some reason.
Death Stranding 2
Really enjoying it still. I just get lost in walking everywhere so progress is slow but that’s how I like to do it :) I think I’m at the 2nd boss fight so putting it off a while longer as I explore more of the land.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 1 day ago:
I did the same a couple months ago. Mostly played PGR4 and was also thinking about the Fable games the other day.
- Comment on PC game recommendation for my partner and I 1 day ago:
Kingdom: Two Crowns is great fun in co-op.
- Comment on How do you feel on Kirby games? 2 days ago:
They are definitely on the easy side but that meant as a kid I could finish it and is one of favourite Game Boy games.
Kirby’s Dream Land has one of the best soundtracks too. Especially “green greens” which I love.
- Comment on What challenge from a game isn't worth completing and what challenge from a game is worth completing? 3 days ago:
Yeah I agree with this. Most achievements just don’t have the fun or inquisitive nature they should and are pretty much meaningless.
- Comment on What challenge from a game isn't worth completing and what challenge from a game is worth completing? 3 days ago:
Completing the Pokedex is pretty cool.
I’ve come close to getting all the capsule toys in Shenmue but in the end it was a lot if reloading saves and eventually I gave up. I barley finish any games so doing extra challenges is even rarer for me :/
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 1 week ago:
The start of DS is a little rough and it’s probably a solid 4 hours to get going. One you do though its top tier walking sim. I’d recommend actually walking and avoiding vehicles as much as possible to.

Death Stranding 2
It’s more of the same which is great. The game is gorgeous and so far after about 10 hours I’m really enjoying it. I can get lost for hours on a single delivery just walking and exploring everywhere :)
- Comment on As The Division 3 development continues, Ubisoft announces layoffs at Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Stockholm as part of 'a proposed organizational restructure' 1 week ago:
I know exactly the trailer you’re talking about. Obviously the game didn’t turn out that way but in my opinion The Division is an under-appreciated gem. It was absolutely awful at launch though and I think it took over a year to fix and adjust the gameplay.
- Comment on Sell n64 carts? 1 week ago:
Chance are they will go up in value but it also means holding on to them another 5 years or whatever. Maybe sell them and specifically put the money towards something cool you do want.
- Comment on we need more users 1 week ago:
Lemmy doesn’t have the niche communities and people don’t want to take the time to customise what it can do for them so get stuck in the same shit as reddit, so then they leave.
- Comment on Pet Peeves with Games? 1 week ago:
Games that jump straight into things without letting me see the options menu first.
Not having the Playstation icons as a preset when I want to use my PS4 controller on PC.
- Comment on Is it still possible to update a game on an Xbox 360? 2 weeks ago:
The 360 does still download game updates if that’s what you’re asking?

Halo: Reach
So I finished up the campaign on Monday and it’s still as great as I remember. Noble Team :(
Satisfactory
Not normally my kind of game but my wife wanted to play together and it’s been fun. Our base is a mix of tidyness (her) and absolute mess (me)… So the perfect match.
- Comment on Mirror’s Edge Was Never Meant to Slow Down 2 weeks ago:
Catalyst is pretty good but I think making it more open takes away the urgency of free running, and that’s the most important part.

- Comment on Arc raiders is a horrible game 2 weeks ago:
Calling it a horrible game is a bit much.
I don’t think it’s as amazing as people make it out to be but, like you mention, turning off crossplay significantly improves matchmaking and supposedly giving feedback helps balance it even more. Its also a lot more fun with friends but the amount of PVP increases with groups and especially much more with 3 man.

Halo: Reach
I thought I’d start the year off by playing through the series using the MCC. Reach is my favourite but I haven’t actually finished any of the other so that might change.
- Comment on How TF2 Still Makes Millions (With No Updates) 2 weeks ago:
I haven’t played TF2 in a long time. I’ve been following a mod called TF2 Classified which sounds interesting though so might jump on that when it’s released
- Comment on How Are You Guys Handling This? 2 weeks ago:
Have a look at the Heroic Launcher. I remember reading it included a feature to play some Windows games in compatibility mode or something?
Apart from that I guess it’s Geforce Now, Amazon Luna etc…

Looks good so thanks for the recommendation.

- Comment on Do you preorder games? 3 weeks ago:
I don’t pre-order but I do buy early access games. Unless it’s something genuinely limited edition and unique there is not reason to risk buying before release.

Merry Christmas!
Astro’s Playroom
In anticipation for the kids (and me) getting Astro Bot tomorrow I’ve been finishing up with all the artifacts and puzzle pieces. The game is actuality quite wonderful with the nostalgia and gameplay so I’m really looking forward to playing the next game :)

Most of them aren’t my kind of thing but I’m happy to get Hogwarts Legacy and Outer Wilds.
- Comment on What is the cheapest console to get and collect for that still holds up? 4 weeks ago:
If you want something modern then I would recommend an Xbox One S (or a One X if you can find it cheap enough) because of the backwards compatability with pevious consoles and a lot of games are dirt cheap nowadays. Also as a bluray player or streaming stuff if you want that too.
- Comment on What is the cheapest console to get and collect for that still holds up? 4 weeks ago:
Xbox One S or X is a really good choice if they want to buy physical games. Great backwards compatability and it plays blurays too.
- Comment on Video Game Physical Software and Hardware Sales Just Had the Worst November in the U.S. Since 1995 - IGN 5 weeks ago:
I have mixed opinions on physical media but. I’m starting to agree with you on this point. In the past I’m all for having the option to buy it on disc/cartridge but when you have to install the game anyway and download a day one patch it kinda defeats the purpose of it. Also offline mode on consoles if just a joke at this point.

Project Gotham Racing 4
It’s a shame that the series isn’t backwards compatible on the newest Xbox because they are awesome games. Driving has a really nice feel to it (not so much for the motorcycles), the circuit locations are all so well done and genuinely interesting to look at and race on. £2 well spent!

Sega was pretty wild with innovation back in the day.
