- Comment on What open-world games on Steam have satisfying movement, like Arkham Knight or Spider-Man? 48 minutes ago:
Great choice with Steep. Very underrated still
- Comment on Blendo Games announce full Steam Deck support for stealthy shooter Skin Deep 2 days ago:
I could remember why Blendo Games was familiar to me until you mentioned AZS. Such a good game!
- Comment on GOG seems to be considering paid membership option 3 days ago:
I’d consider a small fee to support the preservation program if I then received said games for free. It doesn’t have to be a monthly thing but whenever they are added.
I can’t think of anything else that would be worthwhile.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 1 week ago:
I’ve spent more time choosing what games to install than I have actually playing them…
- Comment on The struggle is real 1 week ago:
I have fond memories of TFC and TF2 too. Good community server and civilised people using their microphone are the dream.
- Comment on Upscaling is actually good (as an option) 1 week ago:
Upscaling is great for older games that don’t support modern resolutions. I’m not really a fan of using it in modern games because of the blurryness you mentioned.
Regarding frame gen… Optimise your damn games! Game optimisation is becoming a lost art and now people think they should spend thousands on new hardware too keep up :(
- Comment on The struggle is real 1 week ago:
Nothing better than finding a good community server but sadly not always possible nowadays.

Thanks for the link.

- Comment on Favourite 90s platformer? 2 weeks ago:
I’m not really a platformer fan but Abe’s Oddysee/Exodus and Kirby’s Dream Land are up there.

- Comment on What peripheral do you think should make a comeback? 2 weeks ago:
Fishing Controller and a copy of Sega Bass Fishing for the Dreamcast was good fun.
I’m a big fan of the lightgun more though and have so many good memories. Point Blank, Die Hard Trilogy, Virtua Cop, Time Crisis, Confidential Mission, House of the Dead and even Ghost Squad and Red Steel 2 on the Wii were all so good.
- Comment on Your all-time favorite game? Let's discuss the best options! 2 weeks ago:
Shenmue II
A revenge story set in 1980s Japan. Shenmue was excellent but Shenmue II is just another level in every way. For me it is the perfect combination of story, open world (which I don’t normally like nowadays) and fighting game. It’s quite a mixture of different genres but it works so well.
- Comment on Square Enix Staff Discover Cache Of Pristine Retro Games, Some Of Which Date Back 30 Years | Time Extension 3 weeks ago:
That’s amazing but some game companies should embrace and respect their history more. I spent many many hours doing laps on Hard Drivin’ as it’s one of the few games I had.
- Comment on Favourite Mario Kart game? 3 weeks ago:
Mario Kart DS
I did play a lot of 64 and Double Dash back in the day but DS is by far my favourite.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 4 weeks ago:
I do like some of the mission locations in TD2, the weapon specialist roll and even the backpack charms but the city in general is very repetitive.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 4 weeks ago:
Art of Rally
I’ve been playing it regularly this week and the reply/ photo mode is very satisfying when you put together a nice sequence of corners. I wish there was more of an online element though with clubs and/or custom challenges but it’s still a lot of fun.

I also go back to the first The Division game every so often. The snow covered city is beautiful and one of my all time favourites.
The Division 2 is kind of meh in comparison.
- Comment on What is the best looking retro console or PC? 4 weeks ago:
Game Boy Advance. Actually all 3 variants (GBA, SP & Micro) are beautiful consoles.
- Comment on PS5 Pro sales ‘have fallen behind PS4 Pro in the US 5 weeks ago:
I wonder why…
£800 for a console (£700 for digital) is actually ridiculous.
- Comment on What is your favorite retro racing game? 5 weeks ago:
It’s a close call between Super Hang-On, World Rally and Colin McRae 2.0.
- Comment on Just started playing Life is Strange 5 weeks ago:
I remember watching my wife play through it and thinking it looks fun and interesting but when I tried I just couldn’t get in to it.
- Comment on Rockstar Games talks with top metaverse creators, with an eye on making "Grand Theft Auto" the next creator platform 1 month ago:
I’m curious for GTA VI but reading that has not added to my interest. “Roblox and Fortnite content creators” and “ecosystem” make me want to avoid.
- Comment on Is Civilization 7 not fun? 1 month ago:
Civilization V
Just start with that one and you won’t regret it.
- Comment on Manor Lords, the best city builder of 2024, hits 3 million sales as players continue to fill its maps with muddy medieval towns 1 month ago:
It’s a beautiful game with lots of potential but it gets boring real fast.

Yeah I’m sure it’ll be fine. I jumped on Nextcargame very early and those first couple years were real slow going…
- Comment on Get ready for a smashing time as Wreckfest 2 comes to Early Access in March 1 month ago:
I’m excited for this. Let’s hope it doesn’t take 4 years like nextcargame :/
- Comment on low spec gaming looking pretty sunny right now gang 2 months ago:
It’s not all about performance and the price of what you suggest is triple that if a 5600G.
I probably shouldn’t have used the word “upgrade”.
- Comment on low spec gaming looking pretty sunny right now gang 2 months ago:
I was recently thinking of changing to a 5600G or something to replace my 3600X + R9 390 combo. The GPU is so power hungry, runs very hot and is noisy that an AGPU would be an interesting upgrade.

Football Manager has taken hold of me…
So far I’ve promoted from 6th to 5th tier, stayed mid-low table for another season and now I’m aiming for a top 10.
Also finally have some decent youth players to work with. I really need to improve the first team too as almost everyone underperformed last season.
I don’t even consider myself a huge fan of the sport but I love the management part of it.
