- Comment on Steam Deck / Gaming News #11 16 hours ago:
As always thanks for the post.
I buy and play games from all the storefronts so it’s nice that you post a variety of stuff and not just default to Steam like everyone else seems to. I also don’t follow the news closely anymore so the variety of topics you give is perfect.
Regarding the website idea; Lemmy needs high quality posts so please keep doing what your doing :)
- Comment on PSA: I want a law for PC games to be offered in physical versions again 4 days ago:
Something like legally required to offer a no-DRM version on all storefronts would be interesting. I don’t care about physical media much anymore but I do want to own what I buy.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 6 days ago:
Not much time spent playing this week so just a few short sessions on Skate 3 when I have a spare 20 minutes. I normally just find some realistic spots and make some clips.
- Comment on Who else misses Battlefield 1943? 1 week ago:
1943 was pretty good. Brings back good memories of all the Xbox live arcade stuff on the 360.
- Comment on Who else misses Battlefield 1943? 1 week ago:
I played a lot of 1942 on the NES as a kid but never 1943.
As for Battlefield I wouldn’t bother anymore. The franchise peaked with BF3 and everything else since is just awful.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 2 weeks ago:
It’s actually the only game I feel comfortable using comms in. I have social anxiety so it did take me a few months to get used to it but now it feels natural. I’ve rarely come across anything bad either in 2k hours which is nice and it’s more social than competitive.
- Comment on Found a good video sharing my opinion about Nintendo Switch 2 2 weeks ago:
Nintendo aren’t the monster they are being played as.
I do think the price is too high for the console, games etc but they have always been slow to the party in many ways. That also means they create amazing stuff that the others cannot and have forged their own path. Don’t hate on them for that aspect.

Squad
I’d recommend it for anyone who played BF2/2142 and even BF3/BC2 back in the day. I really don’t like modern shooters as they are quite frankly shit in comparison but Squad is something different. Be warned though that it has its issues but when you get a good round in with decent squad mates and teamwork it is top tier.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 2 weeks ago:
I’ve been playing It Takes Two this week with my daughter and it’s really good. I highly recommend it too.
- Comment on Found a good video sharing my opinion about Nintendo Switch 2 2 weeks ago:
From what I watched it is heavily biased against Nintendo and from someone who clearly isn’t the target audience.
My interest in Nintendo has been slowly slipping away since the early 00s and I wouldn’t even call myself a fan anymore but videos like these are worthless.
- Comment on Found a good video sharing my opinion about Nintendo Switch 2 2 weeks ago:
I watched for a couple minutes then stopped. It’s clear they had no intention or interest in the Switch 2 before all the outrage so why bother to watch the next 18 and 30 seconds…
- Comment on Most under-utilized consoles? 2 weeks ago:
For such a short lifespan the Dreamcast had an abundance of peripherals too which were underutilized. Some of them were ahead of its time but you have to admire the passion!
- Fighting controller
- Arcade stick
- Fishing controller
- Karaoke add-on
- Maracas
- Light gun
- Keyboard & mouse
- Dream Eye
- Microphone
- Comment on Are PC handhelds like Steam Deck really competitors for Switch 2? 2 weeks ago:
No they’re aren’t competitors. I’d wager a significant portion (probably the majority even) of Switch users have never heard of the Steam Deck or even less so the other handhelds.
Steam Deck has it’s fans but like everything in life just because you love it doesn’t mean the majority of people have any clue about it.
- Comment on 6* months away now. If you're on 10, do you plan to upgrade? Make the jump to Linux? 2 weeks ago:
I have an older pc that I use as a a Plex server so as soon as I get some time I will fully switch to Ubuntu.
- Comment on I really need these games ported to Steam. What do y'all have on your lists? 2 weeks ago:
No not yet. It’s been on my wishlist since release :/
- Comment on I really need these games ported to Steam. What do y'all have on your lists? 2 weeks ago:
Most people don’t know any better and it’s sad.

Jet Set Radio Future.
PC or console just give me something!
- Comment on BAFTA Crowns Shenmue "The Most Influential Video Game Of All Time" In Surprise Result | Time Extension 2 weeks ago:
I don’t think it has as big an impact on players as it had on developers.
I think that’s a good way of explaining it. Shenmue can be a love/hate kind of game and with the Dreamcast’s short lifespan too it isunderstandable that mainstream gamers have never played it.
- Comment on What open-world games on Steam have satisfying movement, like Arkham Knight or Spider-Man? 2 weeks ago:
Great choice with Steep. Very underrated still
- Comment on Blendo Games announce full Steam Deck support for stealthy shooter Skin Deep 3 weeks ago:
I could remember why Blendo Games was familiar to me until you mentioned AZS. Such a good game!
- Comment on GOG seems to be considering paid membership option 3 weeks ago:
I’d consider a small fee to support the preservation program if I then received said games for free. It doesn’t have to be a monthly thing but whenever they are added.
I can’t think of anything else that would be worthwhile.
- Comment on Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week? 3 weeks ago:
I’ve spent more time choosing what games to install than I have actually playing them…
- Comment on The struggle is real 4 weeks ago:
I have fond memories of TFC and TF2 too. Good community server and civilised people using their microphone are the dream.
- Comment on Upscaling is actually good (as an option) 4 weeks ago:
Upscaling is great for older games that don’t support modern resolutions. I’m not really a fan of using it in modern games because of the blurryness you mentioned.
Regarding frame gen… Optimise your damn games! Game optimisation is becoming a lost art and now people think they should spend thousands on new hardware too keep up :(
- Comment on The struggle is real 4 weeks ago:
Nothing better than finding a good community server but sadly not always possible nowadays.

I’m not really a platformer fan but Abe’s Oddysee/Exodus and Kirby’s Dream Land are up there.

- Comment on What peripheral do you think should make a comeback? 5 weeks ago:
Fishing Controller and a copy of Sega Bass Fishing for the Dreamcast was good fun.
I’m a big fan of the lightgun more though and have so many good memories. Point Blank, Die Hard Trilogy, Virtua Cop, Time Crisis, Confidential Mission, House of the Dead and even Ghost Squad and Red Steel 2 on the Wii were all so good.
