- Comment on When transitioning from reading a post preview to opening the post and reading main body, the place where you left off should be highlighted in some way. 5 hours ago:
in a lemmy client i’m making i’ve been tempted to remember the position or maybe comment you left the post on and scroll to that spot when you return to it
could maybe even set a # parameter if it doesn’t mess with the SPA router
- Comment on It's pretty cruel, particularly for non-native English speakers, that 'lose' and 'loose' seemingly switched spellings, meanings and pronunciations with each other when no one was looking 1 day ago:
english is a very silly language that’s evolved so you can do almost anything with it
it’s a risky strat but it seems to have worked

- Comment on Peter Molyneux thinks generative AI is the future of games, all but guaranteeing that it won't be 2 months ago:
disappointingly i agree with Pete. with vast new open worlds like no mans sky i think the standard of generative AI could weave good plots, locations, characters and mcguffins

if your service has to be public i would recommend getting a switch that can do VLANs and put your server inside it’s own VLAN DMZ so if you get hacked they will be trapped inside the VLAN

I mean pingora out performs nginx which is why cloud flare made it, I believe
- Comment on Why do so many people use NGINX? 3 months ago:
Would that lack the performance benefits that pingora provides by being compiled without configuration file?
- Comment on Why do so many people use NGINX? 3 months ago:
Yep it would need to be compiled from the configuration given. I’m vaguely interested in trying. I will look up the rust builders. Thank you
