They did market it. A lot.
It’s just that the game’s trailers were wildly forgettable.

Nah, I’ve seen hate. But mostly from people who hate Wesdon-Like quip writting and, well, women-haters who can’t handle the characters being ugly (and they are ugly, admittedly), so I just dismissed the hate.
- Comment on Anti-doom-and-gloom post 9 months ago:
The equivalent community seeded on the site that starts with R and ends with eddit recently (a month ago) made it a rule that people can’t make “therapy” posts which means people posting topics can’t make them primarily about their grievances with personal time or with the industry. And the baseline quality of topics in that place went way higher.
I think there’s a lesson to take from that: Try and not give a shit. Just find games you like, and play and talk about them. Make that the top priority, and make these concerns secondary - and you’ll have a higher quality time with the hobby.
- Comment on how did "step" porn become so popular when we did such a good job keeping scat and insest porn out of the mainstream for so long 9 months ago:
Netorare, Cuckholdery. Basically an entire branch of porn where the plot has one man watch “his” woman be taken by another man. It’s overdone in some circles and completely absent in others which makes me think there’s some degree of turnoff associated with it that is cultural.

Manic Miner for the ZX Spectrum.
It was shit. And I don’t have to tell you why. Just look it up, sound on, that bit is mandatory.
My first ever gamer was a disappointment lmao. I did get super into the Megadrive and everything was fixed. But man.
- Comment on Could plants/trees be an evil alien species that came to earth and made us dependent on them ? 9 months ago:
No no, see, maybe they’re evil because they produced an oxygen rich atmosphere in the first place and caused the collapse of other would-be lifefor-
Uh? Cyanowhat did what? You mean not the trees? But weren’t they up here during the carbonara making all the coal? Oh, I see. Ah. Okay.

I guess this is why Cheating/NTR porn is also so regional in terms of popularity. Because how much it turns off others fluctuates and it lingers on the border.

Step 1: Don’t engage them, no room for their rhetoric.
You are to fuck off.

Then yes, we want an echo chamber. Happy? You’re still defending scum, no matter the semantics.
- Comment on I wonder how much of youtube content is hardcoded sponsor ads. 10 months ago:
Sponsor Block just warns you if a video is an ad wholesale. So, logically, count the entire video.
- Comment on Has google stopped working for finding anything? 10 months ago:
This is because google, surprise surprise, actually knows who you are.
I have very similar results looking for things like Dota 2 hero names. It knows Bane is the nightmare purple monster, not the masked walking meme batman villain, and I don’t have to specify.
What google is TRULY garbage at is answering questions.
- Comment on If you know, you know 1 year ago:
I love that Junji Ito has a bunch of stories that are metaphors for stuff like this. This one. Snail Girl being the same allegory as Metamorphosis. The tall actress being about the anxiety you feel when you know a coworker might ruin the business but everyone else seems to not care. The woman in the window and the window creeping closer is one of the ones most on the nose.
But then he also has the hot spring to hell which is literally “stupid man experiences stupid horror”. He just felt like making cheap horror that month, lol.

You don’t have to finish a degree before you’re 25 to make use of it. Hell, plenty of people have two or even three degrees.
She does YouTube now, and she’ll have huge financial security to finish the degree later. Hell, she’ll have a degree that’s probably up-to-date with her field at the time she’ll actually use it, as opposed to getting one now and having to explain that her lack of work experience after getting it was due to “youtube”.
- Comment on A little history on Reddit. From the politics subreddit with just 85,678 users in 2008 to 500 million active users today. Lemmy/Kbin will follow the same path. 1 year ago:
There is a difference already tho.
Early reddit didn’t have a gigantic metric fuckload of meme and shitpost users. We do now.

Reddit with their “subscriber” counts

- Comment on Hopsital 1 year ago:
Earlier on Lemmy’s life, there was someone here telling people of how many fake reddit stories they had written to places like Am I The Asshole using numerous alts.
And how they were convinced of doing it because they were an editor, and they were used to seeing so much badly written anecdotes with no respect for narrative or proper focus on details of importance… Until Reddit hapenned and flipped that. It was a source of far too many interesting and well edited stories and something was off. They were certain that the average person with a story to tell was far less educated in English than what Reddit had to offer, and the answer was that people were just using it as a creative writing exercise platform. So, they used it that way too, since they wanted to bea fiction writer.

I’m sure the Republicans would just come out of the woodwork and ask “Oh, but what about Obama, how come he can run for POTUS then?”. Which is, of course, something I already seen someone ask. Wasn’t even some old person from “different times” or whatever, this person genuinely just had no justifiable reason to be this racist.
- Comment on Brands that don't buy enough Twitter ads will lose verification 1 year ago:
Eh, with Elon, I prefer to assume stupidity over malice, because he also had already done shit to hurt his own image before he owned Twitter. Who was he being malignant against then? Himself? To own, uh, his supported??? Everything falls in place by just doing the single logical step of “he dumdum”.
- Comment on Patient Posters 1 year ago:
Honestly, even with the idea of daily content in mind, I would prefer that we just didn’t end up making a bunch of “anyone else stopped playing games cuz job and old?” or “it’s okay to quit games. Here’s a bunch of totally relatable reasons why tou shouldn’t have a backlog” threads and calling it content. They’re unoriginal, samey, and sometimes I feel, botted.
- Comment on Can a game allow custom models that are bound to a specific size? 1 year ago:
If you make a model boundary, players will just find a way to somehow fuck with particle effects to get that shown.
And if you try to make a boundary for that, you risk a tenuous particle effect you didn’t account for triggering false positives.
Cheating vs Anti-Cheat truly is a rat race.

Politics aren’t genetic.
But they ARE communal. Where you grow decides 90% of what you believe in.
It’s actually why I disagree with the top comment chain that smarter means more left leaning. I think it’s more that left leaning communities have better education standards and lead to smarter generations. Cause and effect reversed.
