- Comment on YouTube is increasing Premium prices in multiple countries, right after an ad-blocker crackdown | You either pay rightfully for the video content you consume, or you live with the ads. 1 year ago:
I’m on the go fuck yourselves side even though I use YT everyday quite a lot.
Us Aussies got it hard, price went up from 18 to 33. I’m strongly considering this to be my last month.
- Comment on Smartphone sales down 22 percent in Q2, the worst performance in a decade 1 year ago:
Yeah as a techie, 100% wouldn’t recommend. Also they are 5 generations in and nothing really has changed.
- Comment on Smartphone sales down 22 percent in Q2, the worst performance in a decade 1 year ago:
We’re at a point now where you don’t need to upgrade every 6 months or a year. Phones work perfectly fine for 2 to even 5 years now with updates.
Micro updates such as slightly faster processing power or a slightly better camera is not appealing at all.
Foldables is where the next smartphone market is but the technology is way too young and they’re mechanically fragile resulting in problems within only months.
- Comment on Apple users bash new iPhone 15: ‘Innovation died with Steve Jobs’ 1 year ago:
Hear this remark every year now.
- Comment on Apple forced to ditch iPhone lightning charger 1 year ago:
Literally the only ‘new’ thing with the 15
- Comment on Google gets its way, bakes a user-tracking ad platform directly into Chrome 1 year ago:
It’s lucky I haven’t used Chrome in years. Firefox is much appreciated these days.
- Comment on Brands suspend advertising on X after ads appear alongside Nazi content 1 year ago:
Geez, that’s pretty fucking intense.
- Comment on Coming to you soon... 1 year ago:
Yeah I used to be on reddit everyday before everything went to hell and now I’m only on it like once a week and lemmy only a few days in between usage.
Life is more… enjoyable now? Lol
- Comment on As Twitter destroys its brand by renaming itself X, Mastodon user numbers are again soaring | TechCrunch 1 year ago:
Haven’t used my twitter account in probably close to a decade or so but I still can’t find a use for mastodon either.

- Comment on The most popular Chinese keyboard app which is used by more than 450 million monthly users sends every key typed to Tencent in China. 1 year ago:
China being China, no surprise here.
- Comment on As an OG Reddit Sync user of over 10 years, all this arguing really brings a tear to my eye. 🥲 1 year ago:
I’ve been using it over the last few days and I’m pretty impressed with it so far. Before that I was using connect, then sync but didn’t like the ads and insane prices, also tried out a few others but ultimately settled with infinity.
I’ve been using infinity for reddit ever since sync died and I find it’s quite polished and runs the smoothest out of all the apps I’ve tried, even smoother then sync for lemmy. The only bug I’ve ran into is trying to press the profile button on the navigation draw at the bottom crashes the app but it still works from the hamburger menu.
- Comment on People are getting fed up with all the useless tech in their cars — For the first time in 28 years of JD Power’s car owner survey, there is a consecutive year-over-year decline in satisfaction, wit... 1 year ago:
This is very true and I actually forgot about this lmao because my wife insists that we just wait until we get a new car…
- Comment on Google raising price of YouTube Premium to $13.99 per month 1 year ago:
Well yeah, I have a family subscription and I don’t need to pay for another music subscription like Spotify etc. YT music has come a long way since it’s release (i’ve been with it aince the start) and it’s great now. I like that you can watch the music video version too.

I’ve never ever had the chance of experiencing it. My car is over 23 years old by memory, still runs great as Toyota’s do but damn I’d love to have something more then a broken CD player and strip black and white interface.
Perhaps I’d be one to appreciate all this ‘useless’ tech.
- Comment on The state of Playstore 1 year ago:
Agreed. Mostly everything in the store can also be easily done in a browser too.
