Just use a GitHub page. Super simple and driven by your source code.
- Comment on Big-tech is evil but could Fediverse benefit from more small/medium for-profit companies? 1 week ago:
I just gave boost $4 to remove the ads. I prefer OSS and Non Profits absolutely, but I also acknowledge that we live in a capitalist hellscape and good things take money.

I know, I don’t like this dude a ton, but the first half of the video didna good job laying out the scandal imo

For sure. I am starting communities on stuff I want to talk about.
- Comment on Decentralised social media offers an alternative to big tech platforms like X and Meta. How does it work? Podcast 2 weeks ago:
Yeah, the biggest issue to me is users. It is still pretty quiet in the niche communities where in reddit you’d have a lot of eyes for even the most obscure topics

- Comment on Potential Decentralized Fediverse Alternative to Ko-fi, Patreon, etc.? 2 months ago:
I think this is kind of what crypto is supposed to solve. All of those platforms have to have a relationship with a payment processor and that means they may not compatible across instances. A federated space to share and display crypto wallets could do it maybe. But I don’t understand crypto really and feel like the current incarnations are scams.

There is nearly always a contract and the business will submit tax paperwork with your compensation to the IRS.
Under the table workers are illegal and on their own
- Comment on Not allowed to work from home 4 months ago:
I’m an American and I’ve always had a contract. Even in retail. Of course the contracts are all bullshit and just a waiver of my rights.

I didn’t read it as humour I read it as a threat or perhaps a dig on trans folks?
Regardless I didn’t need to escalate.
- Comment on Not allowed to work from home 4 months ago:
Yeah, or even just budget cuts. I am sure it’s cheaper to just lock it down.
- Comment on Not allowed to work from home 4 months ago:
I was at a subsidiary of a very large company and had work slack, email, and all my code on my phone, without even the thing that lets them remote wipe your phone.
It has to do with culture and willingness to put in the effort by the security organization
- Comment on Not allowed to work from home 4 months ago:
What does your contract say? With this back to work bullshit I made sure my contract explicitly said I was remote.
Doesn’t mean they won’t change their mind but maybe I’ll get severance instead of fired for cause of they have a back to the office push.
- Comment on Intuit possibly succumbs to the Streisand effect 4 months ago:
The hell does that mean? They are a shithead CEO, doesn’t need to be more than that.
- Comment on I found a weird IP address on my network that had transmitted an insanely small amount of data. I put the address in my browser and got this. what the heck am I looking at? 5 months ago:
That is IIS, all it means is you are probably talking to a windows server. Is the traffic encrypted? What port is it going to?
- Comment on Starfield's first DLC is one of the worst Bethesda and DLCs of all time 5 months ago:
But but, we’ve been told Bethesda hears us and was fixing it!
- Comment on What happened to the turn based RPG and RTS genres? 5 months ago:
An RTS yes, but not turn based. In fact I bet we don’t fine any turn based real time strategies.

It’s a Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy reference. I have only seen the movie (I think the flower makes an appearance) but I have no idea what it’s about.

Charlie horses are awful. It was hydration for me. When I drink enough water I don’t get them
- Comment on Regarding this picture, where do you think quantum computers lie and why? 6 months ago:
I think AI is falling into disillusionment and Quantum Computers feel at least 10 years behind.
- Comment on If "Master/Slave" terminology in computing sounds bad now, why not change it to "Dom/Sub"? 6 months ago:
I thought the connotation was chattel slavery, not BDSM.
- Comment on If "Master/Slave" terminology in computing sounds bad now, why not change it to "Dom/Sub"? 6 months ago:
It is changing, albeit slowly. In git the default branch was changed from master to main.
In high availability we use primary and secondary, or many other versions of the same idea (main/secondary, etc).
Not sure how disks are handled these days but I haven’t seen the master/slave terminology in those since my first CD burner
- Comment on [deleted] 6 months ago:
Yeah, she shouldn’t be doing any of that but we have no evidence she is the one that crashed. I bet I could do like 3 minutes of googling to find out, but meh.

- Comment on I need to survive for 3 days while pooping, and eating as much as possible. It can't take up too much space. What food do I pack? 6 months ago:
If you want volume, go for as much veggies as you can. Try 4 large potatoes and a lb of black beans per day.
- Comment on Google kills Chromecast, replaces it with Apple TV and Roku Ultra competitor 6 months ago:
This looks great. My Chromecast just died so I replaced it with a Google TV Chromecast thing, so I don’t have the bootloader exploit. Gonna look at the “unofficial” exploits they mention soon.
Does lineage let you cast to it through?
