And that is my point! Or half of it, I should say. I’ve made too many comments in this thread to keep track of myself. Contextually it works, but that doesn’t make it more suitable than American as that works equally well. No one that isn’t trying to be obtuse will think you mean Mexican when you say American, even though it is technically as correct.

It was a retorical question. :)

That issue would be on them, if it is an issue. Not sure it matters for the argument at hand.

Agreed. And correct. We are not disagreeing. :)

"Saying someone is a United Statesian or Statesian is probably the closest to how other countries like Canada (Canadian) or Mexico (Mexican) refer to themselves. If we forget that pretty much all other countries are a unity of states, counties, and or provinces. "
I was refering to this part of your post. United Statesian or Statesian doesn’t make sense to correlate to Mexicans. They are both united states. As for Canada, I think they might be a confederacy and thus united states as well, but I also believe their semi-official name is actually Canada.
As for most countries being united of sorts, I’m willing to accept that as an axiom, but I’m doubtful it is part of their cultural identity in the majority of cases. Maybe on a per capita basis.

At this point, I think we should just call US people Indian.
- Comment on Americans rarely refer to the US as America 2 weeks ago:
They will. They will also know if you say you are from America. My point was that one is no better than the other, from an accuracy point of view. Both have multiple meanings.

I’m assuming Washingtonian would be refering to the man, not the state that refers to the man. I mean, it’s a silly name, but not for the reason you state.
- Comment on Americans rarely refer to the US as America 2 weeks ago:
You do know it is actually named “the United Mexican States”, right? The name of the US is simply bad from the beginning and sometimes you can’t fix bad. Unless they take over all of the Americas, I guess. Then it’s a good name. Bad move, but good name.

I have no idea if this is true but it is so genious and calculating that if it is not, i commend you. Wow. You can still call it American (or whatever country you are in) beef and not lie, but it is such shit quality and at such a low price that it has never occured to people. Much like “genuine leather”. Humanity amazes me.

The inclusion of “found” indicates that it is important to the action taken by Google, would be my interpretation.

Not really. Now, please remember, im not a Japanese or American tax lawyer. A write-off is just a bookkeeping manouver that means: we are never going to make a profit on this investment so we will take the remaining cost right now instead of in installment over the bookkeeping calculated time frame we intended. It might have a time-vslue of money effect on the total value of the cost, but it’s not very significant. The tax write-off was always going to come; it was a cost after all. It’s just a matter of timing.
Let me give you an example. I’m developing a game console and it takes me 10 dollars and a year to do it. In a naïve bookkeeping world, I’d have a cost of 10 dollars the first year and for the next ten years, I’d have the COGS (cost of goods sold) as the cost and the money people pay as the income. This is not how modern bookkeeping works. The cost of year one will be split on the (for example) first 10 years of the game console life as this more realistically reflects what is going on. Cashflow is a very different thing.
I’m sure I’ve used the wrong terms for cost and income, I always do. But no one that didn’t already know what I said will notice…

Martyr for what? You have to deeply stand for something very popular (amongst a group of people with beliefs) that is very unpopular with another group. Of all the people in the world, Peter is not running the risc of becoming a martyr - dead or alive.
I see this mistake as a comment more and more often. I’m not saying anything on him remaining alive or not; that’s a completely different set of questions.

Then they should use a modicum of energy to find the answer as well, instead of expecting someone to hand them a (correct or not) answer. Might even learn a bit more than the answer to the question.

They do if making the most cursory of searches would have told them. It’s not like a downvote is a huge punishment either. Just makes pointless questions easier to sort away.

Try the game Warewolf (same concept goes by many other names). Most people find it really hard to lie, even if it is about nothing important at all and part of the agreed “social” rules.
