Is that remarkable? The authors make the prevalence of parasites as the big takeaway from their study, but bizarrely they don’t cite any other papers of typical parasite load in this fish species or others. I need a frame of reference.

Yup, they’re flash frozen pretty soon after catch. Anything lingering will be killed by cooking.
Wild animals carry disease. Who knew!
