Convince them if people live, they can reproduce more, and predecessors of demons can kill more humans later. The more they wait the better.
Pros: Demons now actively save people, especially women and children.
Cons: Demons become homophobic.
green_copper@kbin.earth 12 hours ago If a demon would be about to kill my, actually my approach would be to try to convince them about this idea and instead of eating me hire me for the planning and execution.

M: Demons are immensely powerful.
F: True.
M: They wield magic we simply do not.
F: True.
M: We reverse-engineer their techniques to even be comparable.
F: True.
M: They understand emotions and logic in order to decieve us.
F: True.
M: So as intelligent beings they are capable of being reasoned with.
F: NOOOO THEY ARE MINDLESS BEASTS AND DESERVE TO DIE. KILL THEM ALL, EVEN THEIR YOUNG!
M: …

Humans have empathy, yet how many will still eat pigs or beef?
Now add on a complete lack of empathy to the mix and you basically have the demon race.

I’m now imagining the animal equivalent of Frieren: a sleepy chicken walking the earth, absolutely erasing every human being it comes across.

She doesn’t call them mindless, she says they have only one goal. By all evidence she seems to be correct.

She’s calling for the complete extinction of an intelligent species. I understand the paradox of intolerance, but humans/elves have proven they can best Demons without having to resort to that, and yet it’s a path she’s more than happy to choose
Plus, there’s so much magic to learn from them, and all that knowledge will be snuffed out. It just feels a little excessive

I do not understand how these points lead to the last one
A lot of animals have “magic” humans do not. There are a lot of examples where humans got inspired from nature, “reverse-engineering their techniques”. Cats and dogs are able to emotionally manipulate humans
This same line of logic could also be applied to like every villain ever. Pure evil villains exist, a fictional species in a mystical world is able to not have developed sympathy
The real evil is the murder of innocent dragons (another species described as intelligent) for like a spell that turns pink painted eggs into magenta painted eggs
