      The big difference, if I’m putting myself in those shoes, is humility. Big achievements are made carefully over a lot of small steps. Any idea you can just leap onto because you think you’re a genius is almost guaranteed to be worthless.

    The weird beliefs from people that have won the science ones are still probably better than how many of the recipients of the peace prize have gone on to start wars or commit crimes against humanity.

    Most of us believe in some weird shit. Now imagine being given intellectual authority by being recognised as one of the greatest minds - specialty becomes secondary matter here and journalists, for example, will just ask one whatever and that will just add sensationalism element to one’s weird shit beliefs - and bam, “Nobel disease”.
