  A water shortage! At least of a kind. I did some heavy yard work today and desperately wanted to use a neti pot after, but I needed to get some distilled water and there wasn't any to buy. (Yes, I know I can make it at home, but I wanted cereal and milk anyway and as long as I was at the store, why not just pick it up.)

  A lot of the current problems surrounding the 2023 distilled water shortage have to do with the Covid-19 pandemic.

  The pandemic caused a lot of problems but it's become a convenient bogeyman. I find it easier to believe our ongoing supply chain crisis is now a systemic dysfunction than an interruption.

  The cereal sucked too, by the way. The box was literally half empty when opened, and I didn't know a completely fresh bowl of cereal could be so... flaccid? It was just gross, immediately gross, like it had been sitting out for 10 minutes instead of 10 seconds.
