Aren’t these the people we give massive tax breaks to? Because we trust them with our money more than the people who use it to pay off their bills?

This isn’t tech news. But if I could find a billionaire thats into dumping 100 million into his twink’s game dev career that would be great.

Doesn’t exactly seem newsworthy to me - without knowing the dynamics of his marriage, I find it hard to condemn - or even care - that a) he spent some money, b) on a company run by his alleged girlfriend, c) while married. None of those things are by definition incompatible with each other.

Would they still be “romantically linked” if he wasn’t a billionaire?

I’m not calling her a sex worker, but I’m also not calling her ethically nonmonogamous. This cash drop definitely didn’t happen during some open table polyamory at his wife’s suggestion.

I may not be doing the best in life, but at least I don’t have to drop that kind of money to get women to date me.

If we did the ratio to your worth, it’s not a given that you’d come on top

I come on top because I don’t want kids

This is the best summary I could come up with:
The former Google CEO Eric Schmidt — who’s been married for over 40 years — invested $100 million in a company led by Michelle Ritter, who is said to be his girlfriend, Forbes reported.
Schmidt, who is 68 years old and worth $19 billion, per Forbes, serves as its chairman, according to his bio on the company’s website, which seems to be pulled straight from Wikipedia — annotations, and all.
Schmidt and Ritter declined to discuss the status of their relationship with Forbes, and they did not respond to Insider’s requests for comment.
Ritter told Forbes she met Schmidt through a connection at Columbia Law School.
She was romantically linked to Schmidt in 2021 when the New York Post ran a story saying they were spotted together in New Mexico watching a Virgin Galactic launch.
Its portfolio includes companies in the AI, crypto, and payment processing space, according to Pitchbook.
The original article contains 344 words, the summary contains 149 words. Saved 57%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

So, common tittle-tattle is now technology news?
EdibleFriend@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Yeah. I want to burn most billionaires as much as the next guy but… This is hardly even newsworthy.

ONE OF THE RICHEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD MAKING FRAUDULENT INVESTMENTS DUE TO BLATANT CONFLICT OF INTEREST is NOT newsworthy to you?
