It depends.

For China, I would also add the social credit score which relies a lot on facial recognition…a real nightmare
And gait recognition too nhttps://youtu.be/R46cX0AjzT4?si=neUjyIYC-Pc6kL3M
As I understand it, the social credit score was never actually put into place. It was mentioned once as an idea, and people took that as a commitment to implement it.
Are you a pedophile if you’re hiding your face for the glory of communism? I’m just asking questions.
That’s a pretty short-sighted read on the UK. We have serious issues with the Tories trying to undermine encryption, but the fact that there are a lot of 30-year-old non-networked CCTV cameras attached to businesses and residences is not really an issue.
Thanks, I forgot this: “We want the master keys to Signal, and we put cameras everywhere because you have nothing to hide.”
Surprised more people are not saying China
(One of) the worst is Australia
It’s a police state and monitors everything on the entire internet
Um, America? Name any large company and it’s America based and tracking you.
Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon, Meta…
Meanwhile all of the services I use that do respect my privacy are from other countries like Switzerland, Canada, Sweden…
Singapore is pretty bad as well
China and North Korea
Every country in the world
I was gonna say India but then I read the rest of the post lol

North Korea

Do they even have the technology to invade your privacy the same way we do in the more developed parts of the world?

You don't need technology you when you have indoctrination. At that point every single other human being becomes a potential point of privacy violation to the secret police.
Your roommates, your wife, your children, your friends, every one becomes a potential data leak, and unlike digital technology, humans can look for dirty laundry in places cameras and listening devices can't.

No, so they invade it in simpler, more pervasive, ways

Lol this country has some of the best state sponsored hacking groups and has a nuclear weapon. Its not like they are living under a rock technologically. The government just doesn’t provide much of anything, to its citizens as a form of control.

Though access is limited, they do have the tech thanks to their friends to the north. I can’t find the link, but they have their own Great Firewall implementation
