I’m kinda wondering if Turnbull’s comments are because he is salty about not getting the job lol
Possibly, but Turbull did take over as head of murdochroyalcommission.org.au after K Rudd stepped down to take whatever diplomatic job it was he took.
I think the Murdoch press had a big hand in Turnbull being replaced as PM, because he was actually considering implementing renewable energy policies theguardian.com/…/turnbull-warned-rupert-murdoch-…
That same day the Daily Telegraph had warned of “a toxic brawl” over energy policy. On Sky the night-time commentators Peta Credlin and Andrew Bolt ramped up their negative assessments of the national energy guarantee and of Turnbull himself. So he is probably butthurt for other reasons too
I’m sure the board of Fox is not partisan in any way!
“Good! Use your aggressive feelings, boy. Let the hate flow through you.”
Palpatine has seen the power of hate in Darth Abbott and a new Sith apprentice has been chosen.
Sooooo is this an Onion headline?
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Former prime minister Tony Abbott has been nominated to join Fox Corporation’s board of directors, a day after Rupert Murdoch announced his retirement.
The statement noted Abbott’s service as Australia’s 28th prime minister and stints as leader of the Liberal Party from 2009 to 2015, as well as being an advisor to the UK Board of Trade since 2020.
The Fox Corporation board has eight members with Jacques Nasser and Anne Dias set to step down following the next annual meeting.
Other board members include former Republican vice-presidential nominee Paul Ryan and ex-Formula 1 chairman Chase Carey.
Rupert Murdoch will become chairman emeritus of Fox Corp while his son Lachlan takes the reins of the family empire.
Former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull lashed the 92-year-old media mogul’s “shocking” legacy, saying he had created an “anger-tainment ecosystem” and left America the most divided it’s been since the Civil War.
The original article contains 256 words, the summary contains 148 words. Saved 42%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Yep, he can hang out with Paul Ryan. Funny how all the politicians that carried water for him end up with a cushy do nothing job.

Yeah but I was kinda hoping Lachlan would guide the network a few notches back to the left of where they are. This isn’t an indicator of left-ward intentions though.

Plus then they’re all in a single location
…just sayin’
