Don’t join the army.
“Give me advice”
“Don’t do it”
“>:(”
You become what you strive for. And you will get stronger emotionally. Go in with an open mind and go with to flow. You will be just fine.
I don’t think you’re going to run into much of that, so my advice is to not think that you’re going to be scared, but rather excited. You’re going to learn a lot of great skills, meet a lot of interesting people, and start a whole new phase of life. The people I know in the military benefit much more from lifting their peers up and working well as a team, than they do from putting one another down.
Isn’t going insane part of the military experience?
Have you already signed up?

Basic training is not like you see in films, it’s more motivational not angry. All you have to do is follow directions and you’ll be just fine.
Remember, there is a reason for everything no matter how stupid it might sound. Just go with the flow, listen, don’t do anything unless told to, and when told to do it to your best ability. You will always be told in detail how to accomplish a task. There is seriously nothing to worry about.
My best advice, blend in and don’t stand out. Don’t be the best or the worst at anything in basic. Your job is to graduate, nothing more. When your gwt to your job training school that’s when you want to stand out.

Honestly this is the best thing I’ve read so far and makes me feel so much better. Thank you. And I think I’m just going to constantly remind myself who I am while I’m there, and just play along with the stupid little game.

Exactly, it’s a big game and once you’re through playing it in basic things get so much easier. Just go with the flow and try not to take a y of it personally.
