  The whole concept of “degenerate” is irrelevant. It’s a way to control behavior of other people via shame. It is irrelevant what you do as long as you don’t hurt anyone else with it.

    “Degenerate” originates from the Latin dēgenerātus, the past participle of dēgenerāre, meaning “to be inferior to one’s ancestors” or “to become unlike one’s race or kind”.

  Everyone’s already pointed out the fallacy and politics of the term “degenerate”. If you’re concerned about your habits but also want to live a life with reasonable pleasures, read the philosophy of Hedonism.

  The idea is you end up taking better care of yourself by striving for long term pleasures instead it just the instant ones. You know, kiss gorls, eat candy, but also brush your teeth.
