This clearly shows that you are willing to talk out of your ass. The early Internet was filled with some of the smartest people alive, the mass of shitty content did not arrive yet because it wasn’t accessible to the masses. At the beginning, the Internet was literally only scientists. A little later, it was only very open people not scared to try something new and excited about the future and about foreign cultures, with corresponding amazing content.
Only after this initial period, when the internet became commonly used, did it turn shit. Stop trying to manifacture arguments for your position and truly do what you acted like setting out to do, understand other people’s concerns.

You probably simply never noticed. Maybe the grocery chain you buy at. Maybe a particularly flashy packaging of a food item in said grocery store. Maybe an outrageous fun sex toy you saw in porn. Maybe you’re subscribed to a Patreon somewhere. Maybe you have a t-shirt of your favorite show. Do you really make all these decisions completely conscious of all advertising you saw before, making sure that you do not miss any better alternatives with worse advertising?
No person can think so much about all their decisions to spend money. No one can be so perfectly conscious of every single sensory input. Advertising works on everyone, you just don’t even notice when it works on you.

To the second part, thank you for explaining your terminology, for me “death to [country]” meant “to the whole country, including the people”. I would have used “dismantle the government of [country]” instead.

I do understand what you mean, however the attempted genocide that christians, jews and muslims are doing to each other is much older than any of that. You do not truly know anymore who started, the only thing I personally know is that the same way that a genocide against Palestinians needs to be stopped, so does a call for genocide against Israelis. Of course, due to other countries (including Germany) support of Israel, Palestine needs special protection and the immediate ceasing of all support to Israel.
What you do not see is that we don’t truly disagree, I’m just trying to explain one of the multi-faceted thought patterns that go on in some people’s brains. Multiple different concepts can co-exist at the same time, and do not necessarily contradict each other, like saying that the genocide in gaza needs to be stopped immediately and the genocide in Gaza and in the Holocaust not being the literal same.

I agree, but the death toll for example is a potential way to measure it. But again, I never said that the genocide in Gaza should happen, in fact I want it to be stopped by almost any means necessary, like not a counter-genocide.
Is that applicable here on Lemmy?
I’m not providing any commentary about what should be done, I was just hoping to help people understand that feddit.org is not filled or run by Zionists.
