It’s like that here too and it’s shit.

Everyone I know is burning out and asking me to help them find a new job.

Could you help me find a new job too?

        Unfortunately probably not.

I’ve been doing resume reviews, mock interviews, and making coding tests for friends but I can’t do that anonymously for strangers.

If you have something you want me to look over I can, I just probably can’t help with the other stuff.

At least China has universal healthcare

No they don’t. They have state provided health care, supplemented with private options.

But they are not universal in the sense that (1) not the entire population is covered (2) health care is not close to free for most people.

My understanding is they do not.

Which is kind of the worst of both worlds.

I’m shocked. With how much astroturfing has been going on I thought China was this utopia of freedom and economic success with no worries.

Thank fucking christ I work a job where you have to physically go places to do the work.

Eventually they’ll just make you pilot one of those robot dogs around site and swap out modules on big slide-out cassettes because its cheaper to have someone in thailand swap out an AC compressor at some datacenter somewhere.

Tbh, I’d do that. I already want one of those RC snow blowers. Mount a camera to it and I can sit inside and plow my driveway for 18 hours, but at least it’d be kinda fun.

I’m freelance, and AI can’t do my job yet…

But I’m sure it will be able to one day.

im aware of certain companies as well behind the scenes doubling down on ai workload very recently as well, so China definitely isnt alone on that front.

…Well I’m fairly sure this comment isn’t AI generated. Usually with AI, I at least understand the projected message.

Here, I’m fairly certain that not all of those are even real words! Who just sits there and makes up fake words, as if they were real? Hmmph. A real loser, that’s who!

      …covfefe.
