If we valued the middle class and upward mobility in the US we would be all in on domestic wind and solar. Produce electricity domestically while creating a huge maintenance workforce? A maintenance workforce is an amazing thing to have. So incredibly healthy for the economy.

Every healthy society needs a robust guillotine maintenance and repair workforce.
Wind turbines could be enhanced with razor sharp leading edges on their blades. It may increase their generation efficiency, but would definitely help remove the biggest environmental polluters, the morbidly wealthy.
