Shame on labour for allowing genocide.
Not merely allowing. Engaging in persecution, oppression, and soon, murder to defend it.
Isn’t this just a slow form of suicide? Is there any chance that those demands are going to be met?
Slim, but it’s worth noting that the last time hunger strikes were used by a group in the UK was the IRA in the 70s and 80s and rather than risk the bad press of allowing people to die in prison, the government largely agreed to the striker’s demands.
I realised I didn’t know what their demands are, but it’s in the article:
The group’s demands include immediate bail, the right to a fair trial, the deproscription of Palestine Action, the shutdown of Israeli weapons firm Elbit Systems’ sites on British soil, and an end to alleged prison interference with their letters and other communications.
Worth noting that they’re not asking for any charges to be dropped, so they would probably still face long prison sentences for criminal damage even if the government agreed to all of this

What’s the point of killing yourself when those responsible aren’t even listening

To spark more outrage along your peers and get more people protesting. To show that this is something with dying for.
That’s my interpretation anyway.

When I was a kid, I heard a lot about a Buddist that set himself on fire in protest. Not once do I recall hearing what the man was actually protesting.
