I mean, nothing major goes wrong for the West for all its atrocities. Maybe if a couple of nukes dropped in major American cities the populace would not support these incursions (sadly, empathy is nonexistent over there, as seen through the American history of native genocide, chattel slavery, coups and bombings, for a couple of centuries straight!).
If history is any indication, what that would do is make the country forget about how the conflict started and demand that nukes (or some equivalent strike) be fired in retaliation.
I sont think the populace supporting these invasions matter.

For all the shit that can (and should) be thrown for the blatantly illegal attack on Venezuela: Putins wet dream is that he could have pulled off the same attack against Ukraine.
Full disclaimer: The attack on Venezuela’s integrity is horrendous and I condemn it.
