Loved that game. It was weird and funny and different.
Serious Sam 2 was just updated after 20 years in celebration of its anniversary

It really has stood the test of time. It’s a great shooter

I always thought this was the weakest one. I loved TFE and TSE.

It’s front loaded with boring, slow gameplay, but when it ramps up, it’s great. The final level is top shelf stuff.

Agreed, though it is still fun, it just isn’t as good as the first two.

Better than 3 and 4, in my opinion.

That doesn’t say much honestly. Three was a repurposed generic military shooter, four showed potential but fell short (maybe they fixed it since then).

I still play this game.
The only one you need installed now is Classics: Revolution. That’s all of 1 and 2 wrapped up. But … there’s no update pending. Last one was 2020.
I guess I’ll download the monolithic SS2 and see what’s new.dingleberrylover@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
This game was a fever dream. Played through it in coop with a friend. Given the fact that this game is not what Serious Sam typically is associated with, it really is nice that it received an update like this after all these years. TSE is still my favourite (love the jungle/Aztec themed levels).
