I know a couple deal maker type people who are teetotal. I suspect it’s common in some cultural groups. They just drink nonalcoholic beverages. Some people handle it well, some people don’t.
Programmers trying to hit Ballmer’s peak?
Don't sex workers drink on the job too?
As a sales rep for a beer distributor, I definitely HAD to drink on the job.

Taste testers for breweries or wineries also exist.

I thought about wine tasters but then I thought “don’t they usually spit it out?” But yeah. Also probably food critics.

Some alcohol still absorbs through the skin inside your mouth, tasting and spitting 50 wines at a quick pace through a day can get someone tipsy. Judging wines properly can also involve swallowing a tiny amount to feel the characteristics of it on the way down the throat.
