I love syntax and I really struggle to parse this. They didn’t do anything after they died so this didn’t make much sense for me but the subclause is referring to the remembering

Syntax is my worst weakness right after my looks and then my brain. How should I word this? I can fix it
There’s a word for “things a person did that can be remembered after they die;” legacy.

But, but, someone died! You’re supposed to say nice things about them when they die! This isn’t the procedure!

Just invite me to their funeral. I will address all of their missbehavior and mistakes. A bad person will always be a bad person, no matter when they die.
