CT Insider, a local news outlet, reported that Minogue [the victim] had reached out to police weeks before her death to complain of hundreds of harassing text messages from Dewitt, but an officer failed to follow up with an arrest warrant.
Rideshare drivers have a duty to protect the public, but the police do not.

Lawyers just doing lawyer things and identifying the deepest pockets with a connection (however tenuous) to the crime. Lyft can probably pay out better than the killer.

I don’t know the story, but this seems the most likely.

Nah, I would definitely not let a guy into my car who was carrying an actual ax.

What other supplies did the ax murderer stop for? And what “bizarre behavior” was there other than just carrying the ax? I feel like there must be more to it to have it not be dismissed, though our courts are weird right now.
The more important point here is that the victim tried to get the murderer arrested before this happened, but unfortunately acab.
