I’ve got a family of them at my work (in Perth, not NSW). I work nights and have a lot of downtime, so I’ve spent a lot of time over the years just watching them look for food. I love the way they bounce along when they need to move on the ground, but I don’t love the diving peck they do when they see food from a rooftop and neither does the bonnet of my car.
I saw tons in the blue mountains, and many other very pretty birds
I did see tons of cockies there but no kookas :(
Have noticed they seem to hide for some parts of the year, maybe unlucky timing

There’s a crew of burras that hang out just off Enmore Rd not far from Newtown Station in Sydney. Sometimes their morning singing is so regular you could rely on it as an alarm clock.

Don’t think I’ve been there. Gotta have a look next time I’m in Sydney
