That’s the claim atd I used to echo it, but with near daily walks (weather permitting) plus hikes when weekends permit, plus gardening, I’m still deficient. Same story for almost everyone I work and exercise with.
There’s either more to it or the claim doesn’t hold up empirically
- Comment on Tanning apps that offer ‘safe’ sun routines undermining efforts to tackle skin cancer 2 weeks ago:
Article suggesting that the body should never have any sort of tan because that’s dangerous
Meanwhile everyone is vitamin d deficient, developing auto immune diseases from low levels
Animals seek out sunlight to sit in, look at your cat or dog
You don’t need to go overboard cooking yourself for more than a few minutes but advocating for literally no sun exposure is so stupid?

If conducted in good faith they would have discussed it with industry like everything else they do and industry would have worked with them to produce a solution that isn’t brain dead

I haven’t seen any cutout for small sites, you have to comply if meeting the criteria. You’d just be breaking the law and hoping the govt doesn’t come knocking
- Comment on As of December 10th, You need to be sixteen to use Aussie.Zone 2 months ago:
Nailed it
They could just release some tools to parents to monitor/block sites but that would be too logical
- Comment on As of December 10th, You need to be sixteen to use Aussie.Zone 2 months ago:
Proof it’s not about “protecting children” when the most child unfriendly sites are not impacted

- Comment on Australia | Teenagers sue over social media ban for ‘violating their right to communicate’ 2 months ago:
Parents who neglect their children have their children removed. There are no excuses for bad parenting, there are plenty of resources to understand what “the internet” is. Seriously?
This is not a real argument. I’ve presented alternatives and you’ve ignored them. You raise strawmen and move goal posts. There are non police state alternatives. You’re arguing in bad faith and I will not engage with you further
- Comment on Australia | Teenagers sue over social media ban for ‘violating their right to communicate’ 2 months ago:
People have always been fucked, we don’t need a bloody police state just because some people let their kids use the internet
- Comment on Australia | Teenagers sue over social media ban for ‘violating their right to communicate’ 2 months ago:
Govt could extremely easily release a product, with or without NBN involvement, that helps control internet for kids. They don’t and instead impact everyone with this bullshit
