You try to be kind to them, and all they do is take advantage of you. Yet people say “oh have sympathy, they’re sick” fuck that. I understand that substance abuse is a problem, but u have zero sympathy for junkies who ruin other peoples lives. The world would be better off if they just fucking OD’D and died, less oxygen wasted on trash imo.
Because they’re people.
You seem to have some sort of specific situation in mind other than just any and all drug addicts. Would you care to go into more detail?
My boyfriend’s grandma allowed one to stay in their house while waiting on disability until she stole her pain meds, they originally didn’t call the cops because they didn’t want them to be involved, but this bitch calls the cops and claims that because she gave them some money, she’s technically a tenant, so they’re stuck with the selfish bitch until they go through an eviction process
So, really, your problem isn’t with addicts, it’s with selfish assholes that take advantage of others.

Drug addiction is a mental illness. And no healthy person wants to become a drug addict.
When there not high they spiral in a constant bad mood, It changes how people are, the actual personalities repressed by a primal zombie like craving.
It can happen to you, your mom, your kids.
