I wouldn’t say that. Steam is such a massive platform that I’m sure it will have some effect, whether it be new people looking for a porn game or old players who are browsing through their library. Sure it won’t die, but less people will play it now

Of course it will have an effect. My point was that they have straight up admitted it won’t affect the “porn sick brain rotted pedo gamer fetishists” they are trying to claim this is a win over, because this group can just access the games elsewhere.
What are the odds one of this group’s leaders gets caught with some sort of secual deviance in the next decade?
This sort of hatred and need to control others always seems to come from a place of self-loathing and suppression. Normal, well-adjusted can’t enjoy anything because these people are obsessed with their own internal conflicts and project it out onto the world.
That’s some real good odds if you ask me.
Anytime I see a conservative group like them, regardless of country of origin, try to take the moral high ground on anything sexual related, I immediately assume there’s a 500% chance they’re trying to get the exact same thing they do in private banned for everyone else.
This just makes it extra frustrating when many people reacted to these news with indifference. They are not visible by default. You can hide general tags and specific games from your view very easily. There is no need to celebrate arbitrary censorship by puritans or hate groups, just because it doesn’t negatively affect your primary usage of a product.
I agree completely. I’ve never bought a porn game on Steam. I can’t imagine buying a porn game on Steam. But I’ll repeat my comment from last week when this news was fresh, in another Community:

Even so, I absolutely fucking hate this crap. Payment processors are killing off content despite the producers and consumers of the content being completely fine with it. This should be a Net Neutrality issue. But I’m not seeing anywhere near the same outrage over it that there was over ISPs doing the exact same thing.
I was indifferent, it’s true. People who sell porn have had issues with the likes of PayPal and credit card payments for decades. I wasn’t surprised by the move, nor did I blame Valve.
Am I bothered that it was instigated by this mob? Not particularly. If it weren’t them, it would have been some other mob. They were only pointing at something the payment companies are already pre-disposed to disassociate from.
Taking credit for it is a bit of overreach. They pointed at Valve and said “Look! they have porn on their platform!” They didn’t actually do anything.
Collective Shout are a hate group who promote harmful TERF rhetoric.
They’ve also been scrubbing the Internet of any articles pointing out how shit they are.

I think we need to get this group to weigh in on the content of certain holy books. Surely as a secular organisation they will have no problem demanding that the bible and qur’an be banned (I bet I know which one they actually would like banned).
After all we don’t want kids exposed to books that contain incest, sex, violence, rape, etc. I’m sure there are some parts of Ezekiel they will want editted at the absolute minimum.
I imagine balkanisation would be one way to make them slightly less visible/insufferable, and you know they would love some factional infighting.
