My experience with Code Vein was briefly playing it on game pass, but couldn’t get past the weeb bait waifu chick. Like seriously, first cutscene and her boobs are waving in the breeze while she’s standing still, like their fucking flags or something. It’s was downhill from there when the gameplay was mediocre and I was supposed to somehow connect with and protect said waifu as my motivation.
Uninstalled in under an hour. Wife and I jokingly refer to the game as “Code Titty-Flap.”

Buddy of mine gave me a spare copy he had of Code Vein years ago. Never opened it. It just sits on the shelf in the backlog.
Probably should pop that in and give it a shot.
Yes! The original Code Vein is one of my guilty pleasures. It’s very rough in spots and a lot of the levels feel like they’re just hallways to connect arenas, but there’s still a lot of fun to be had if it looks like it might be your kind of thing.
The character had a ton of options and the character builds in game let you unlock skills from classes for permanent equip so you could start to blend the classes together to your liking, creating some really cool builds if you put some thought into it.
It’s a silly game, but one I recommend if you’re just looking for a bit of fun and not expecting an overly engaging experience.

It’s been a few years, actually reinstalls
My biggest problem with the first game is the difficulty curve. I think it peaked at the second zone if I’m not mistaken, then it goes up and down like crazy, last boss was a joke for example. Love the game tho, hope they can fix that for the sequel

This looks… Rough. The character designs seem to be a major downgrade from before, and the lore and plot don’t seem to follow up at all on the last game?

I agree with this. It looked like some Fortnite shit.
They probably wanted to do a middle ground to make more visually accessible territory and not branded instantly as a “weeb game” this time. The anime art style is what made it unique though.
