#Texas Right to Repair bill passes, heads to the governor’s desk
THIS IS THE TITLE.
Respectfully, this title gets under my skin.
Why so doomer? He might veto it. It wouldn’t be surprising. But why are you declaring a loss prematurely?
Don’t hope for things there’s no chance of. Fight to change the chances of things, and if you fail try and fight again and again until you win.
Texas moved closer to becoming the next state with a right to repair law on the books, as the state Senate unanimously voted 31 - 0 to finalize HB 2963 this weekend. It would require manufacturers to make spare parts, manuals, and necessary tools available for equipment sold or used in the country’s second most populated state.
You can editorialize in the body on Lemmy; there’s no need to use a title that obscures what the link is about.
It passed the house with a veto-proof majority and the senate unanimously. It is almost certain to become law whether the governor signs it or not.

Or, even better, just comment with one’s position like everyone else.
Why don’t you think he’ll sign it? It was passed unanimously with no partisan objections. This is as big an issue for farmers as it is anyone else, because farm equipment companies are pulling the same shit tech companies and appliance companies are
And they’ve been doing it more blatantly and for longer than most tech companies.
Clickbait
Let’s go! I’m surprised Louis Rossmann wasn’t mentioned, I’m sure he was intimately involved.
he probably shared the same ideology as op as doesn’t believe it will be signed.
I don’t know what ideology that would be. Louis Rossmann believes strongly in Right to Repair, but has burned one too many times by bills failing at the 11th hour at the governor’s desk, and that doesn’t seem to depend on any kind of ideology, people on the left and right pull the same crap.
I’m guessing OP feels similarly frustrated.
I’m hopeful, but knowing the political process, I’m not expecting it to actually be signed or for the legislature to override the veto.
Idk right to repair matches the cultural zeitgeist in Texas, in my experience. This doesn’t surprise me.
Texas’ republican politicians will do right by farmers when they can. This benefits anyone who owns a tractor.

WTF is this dog shit title? It’s not the title of the article and gives literally no value to the content.
