Can a person use AI or whatever and get rid of their name and history off the net? And can it create a new ident with a bunch of history pictures and so forth?

You could not make it able to do anything you yourself can’t. So if you can’t access the thing to delete it, neither could your AI.

How would AI even begin to help with this?

The internet remembers forever. Literally. The more you want something gone, the more tenaciously the internet will preserve it and treasure it and amplify it.

You can absolutely create a new fake profile. You can create lots, an endless amount of them. That’s trivial. AIs are doing that all the time, some people legitimately believe most of the internet nowadays is just bots with fake profiles arguing with other bots with equally fake profiles. And it’s plausible they could be at least a little more right than most people would imagine. See the dead internet theory

But trying to have something removed from the internet is like asking your family to stop telling that embarrassing story at every gathering. All it does is let everyone know there’s an embarrassing story, and intrigues everybody to find out what it is. And they won’t stop until they do. See also the Streisand Effect.

Not really, it can try but honestly at the end of the day most things are roughly equivelant to tracking down the sites, and hoping they actually remove things when asked. Some services try this, and do an OK job of it usually, but there will always be bad actors and archives of everything you have.

Creating bogus history etc… very plausible, but also most likely will still be tracable to the idea that none of it was there before a certain date.

yeah I isn’t the really the right tool for the job but you can certainly put a lot of effort into wiping your traces from the internet but it’s going to take a long time and a lot of effort.
