I think that very much depends on how they’re implemented. If there is some sort of electoral-college-equivalent in the process: very much more racist, isolationist, and misogynist. If it’s absolute numbers and no distorting process is applied: more racist and isolationist but abortion will be legalized by a narrow margin.
What would the USA look like if it had Referrendums/Initiatives on both the Federal and State level?

Politicians would have to work a bit harder to do the bidding of their financial backers while pretending to pay attention to “the people”. But most of them would still do it.

Yeah… I still think referendums are good but fundamentally democracy can’t coexist comfortably with extreme wealth inequality. So it’s a good idea but it doesn’t solve the core issue.
