People buy things they don’t need in a healthy economy, even when they’re not doing great. In an unhealthy one they do things like boil socks for supper. (Yes the book is taking about a real thing)

higher prices lead to lower sales volume. yea, that’s normally how it works. but amazon’s cut is based on price. if prices go up, so does what they

wouldn’t that only mean the percentage they skim is higher, not the total gross if people are spending significantly less?
