This comment here. I wish I had visibility to the logs.
Probably not too helpful but it does appear that you can post via world and back again.

I can see this. And I’m in world. World does have some strangeness when it comes to sync sometimes. Peertube still doesn’t work with it. But mastodon does. Might be related to the version they are using?

I have 2 terabyte hard drives that get backed up when I remember.

Huh that’s interesting. Never knew that.
- Comment on Is it possible to design a social media app or service that rather than focuses on farming engagement, it tries to promote quality content? 2 weeks ago:
Some fedi services have blocklists that look for keywords to auto-block from your feed. Its pretty neat! Might be something to consider.

Yes this happened to me and my wife.
Alert came in one the phone (screaming at us really) then when you clicked on the notification. Bam blocked because we didn’t have a twitter account.

…I kinda like it right now. Some communities of less than a 1000 have much more human resources. It nice.

- Comment on How does interoperability work between different fediverse services? 2 weeks ago:
You are. Lemmy is kinda the odd one out but mastodon/peertube/misskey/etc… all use activityhub to communicate.
Parts of the protocol for Lemmy kinda stopped working for Peertube stopped working 7ish months ago. And Lemmy treats posts/upvotes/down voted differently than the rest of the fediverse. Just some small changes to be aware of.

- Comment on Fediverse alternative to fanfiction/writing platforms? (Wattpad, AO3, FFN, etc.) 2 weeks ago:
I do have to say, the way www.royalroad.com/home does it is awesome.
- The only ads you get is from other authors. Whichnis sometimes hilarious.
- They work with authors with a lot of tools around editing, statistics, etc…
- Lots of authors will review your work for free.
- They have their own publishing platform. I heard it’s pretty good. But you have the option to go with whomever.
While it would be awesome if they supported fedi for comments, they do have RSS so it’s not like you can’t get updates that way.

It feels very beta. Hopefully they improved upon it.

As a software developer this sounds a lot like zapier. And it’s a very hard problem to solve. If someone wants to do it sure but every time an API changes…whoo boy. Not fun.
- Comment on Single instance Lemmy? 3 weeks ago:
Yeah I need to take another look at piefed. Thanks for the read.
But man the best part is the resources it consumes. Let me remind you that Lemmy puts a load of 12 on the server, when I turn off Lemmy the load with the other 13 web services running on the server is 0.5 and when I turn on PieFed the load is 1.

- Comment on What is the limiting factor than prevents software discovery of undocumented hardware registers and instructions? 3 weeks ago:
Hunting and pecking work. Also trying to do research on the actual chips on the hardware helps quite a bit.
In the case they put black blobs on their chips or rub everything off, you can go with throwing an oscilloscope and checking the readings coming in and out of the device. Ive had to do that a couple of times to make a “spec” out of chips that no longer have documentation.
Here is a great example: bookmanarchive.com

They do over the teardowns: bookmanarchive.com/reveng/…/DBD-440.0.jpg its pretty neat!

I assume since it’s using the same protocol, it can.
