Might be better to figure a way to innoculate cultures in the Americas before Columbus arrived, as European diseases killed over half of pre-exchange population. That or introduce draft animals before 1000 CE to do the same thing over centuries.

That’s entirely the wrong guy. It was the Cheyenne, out west, who wore feathers like that. Also, Tisquantum (aka Squanto), who lived where the Pilgrims landed, did speak English.

Maps you bring with you from the present should still be pretty useful, as long as they’re topographical maps as opposed to road maps. And as long as you’re not going deep into geologic time, of course.

I just share it as one of those astonishing facts. Tisquantum’s story is fascinating, and sad. He was abducted into slavery by a ship captain, taken to Spain, then his freedom bought by some Franciscan friars, who educated him. He was able to make his way back home, only to find that his entire tribe had been wiped out by disease. That’s how he was able to greet the Pilgrims in English.
