  Remember when Krebs exposed his sketchy little empire? Cue the ”biggest DDoS ever”—four days of digital tantrums because someone’s feefees got hurt. Pathetic.

  The founder of Path is a young man named Marshal Webb. I wrote about Webb back in 2016, in a story about a DDoS defense company he co-founded called BackConnect Security LLC. On September 20, 2016, KrebsOnSecurity published data showing that the company had a history of hijacking Internet address space that belonged to others.

  Less than 24 hours after that story ran, KrebsOnSecurity.com was hit with the biggest DDoS attack the Internet had ever seen at the time. That sustained attack kept this site offline for nearly 4 days.

  Fuckin’ yikes. Some serious skeletons clearly visible for everyone to see if that’s the echo to the call.

    FWIW I shifted my monthly Wikipedia donation to The Internet Archive recently and recommend others do the same. Just a few bucks a month, please, it matters. Zero hate for Wikipedia, it’s a critically important piece of human culture, but they’re plenty good on $ and we need to be fostering backups of shared knowledge and historical records. This is important! No one will do it for us, only we who care can do it!

      I’m also a monthly IA donor. They’re being sued by publishers and need to mount a defense to continue to archive the Internet and government data that is being deleted.

      Also, don’t buy any books from those litigious publishers.
