More broadly, the Cynics, whose thought was largely derived from Diogenes, believed very much in going with one’s ‘gut’, so to speak - the attempt to robustly define all things instead of intuitive understanding was, in the Cynic worldview, a fool’s undertaking! You know what a damn man is when you see it!
