They have teeth.
They just use them on Unions and the Working Class now.

Don’t worry. Instead of forcing social media to fight disinformation, they’ll force you to upload your ID and make out easier for them to data mine you, and improve the disinformations success rate.
Just neoliberal things…

‘oh Lemmy.World doesn’t have a corporate entity in Australia to upload your ID to? Then it’s an unsafe site and blocked’

Outsider looking in, what the fuck Australia, why did you almost do a whole ass ministry of truth? Doesn’t half your government deny climate change?

Not even our first rodeo. Both of our major parties are abhorrent on digital rights.

The Shit Party and the Shit-Lite Party are both too regressive. Albo is not being progressive but Dutton would be even worse, dragging us kicking and screaming into a second Great Depression.
We need a viable third Party.
Can everyone remember in the 1990s when the Democrats held the balance of power and were able to Keep the Bastards Honest?
The Greens aren’t an option, because they are too head-in-the-clouds to be able to maintain the economy.

To be fair, they at least want to end negative gearing, capital gains discount and ensure companies pay their fair share of tax.
There’s better options but I’ll still preference them over the major parties

they have done a fair bit of spending on infrastructure but unfortunately it’s all small target managerial stuff making repairs after LNP ransacking.
The urgent care clinics are great, but they’re the only visible structural thing they’ve done. Core “values” have been abandoned in favour of entrenching a 2 party system and winning the next election. Which presumably will be magically different and they’ll be able to properly work?

It is a shame. Our Preferential Ballot is the envy of democracy’s around the world and the ALP and NLP are doing everything possible to destroy it.
Every person needs to leave them until almost last preference (except the fascists who should always be last preference) in the next election.
